If you click on start in the bottom left hand corner of the screen you will see RUN
Click this and then type MSCONFIG this will let you delete programmes that slow down the startup of your pc but be careful some of these files are actually needed by your pc. Only delete the ones that have names of programs you recognise.
Hope that helps

Go to the Start menu, under Programs you should have a folder called Startup. In this folder are the icons for the programs that automatically start. You can just drag-and-drop them into another folder on the start menu. If you want to use them at another time, you can start them manually by finding the icon (wherever you dropped it in the Start menu) and clicking on it as usual.

some programs don't appear in the startup folder, (like realplayer and quicktime), but do have an option in their own preferences menu's not to load when the computer starts..try looking at that if the above doesn't work.

If runing msconfig doesnt help solve your problem then i would suggest downloading: Tune up utilities 2006 which will give you full control of all your start up programs/log on screen and help optimise your entire system.
you can download it free from torrentspy.com ( with keygen)

Get yourself a program called winpatrol, and use that, it is an excellent program, also stops your internet settings getting hijacked by other sites.
