I never abuse my alcohol, though it slaps me around and makes me its ***** from time to time...

If they had reported that 18 million Americans DRINK alcohol, I would call that number way too low. As it is, I think the number is a bit higher because of all the closet drinkers out there who don't like to admit they drink (my ex is one of them).

so at 300 million that is one in roughly 15... hmm... i would say it is probably low if you included all forms of abuse: mental, physical, and emotional abuse of alcohol
