I feel like life is too short to be coy but I never get very good responses from men when I'm just honest about what I'm thinking or feeling. Why is that? It seems like men don't want to know the real woman. I know a lot of women who really put on an act with men and men seem to love it but if they knew the way these women really are they'd be horrified.

It is important to be open and honest. I feel the same way as you do. The truth will always come to the light. I say that if a guy likes you even after you have been truthful then you don't have anything to hide and it is a major relief.

I love honesty. At least I always know where I stand with a person when they tell me the truth outright. Don't sugar-coat things for me because you're worried about my feelings. I'm a big boy. Give it to me straight!

That said, most people are the way you describe. Usually stems from insecurity or lack of self-identity.

Honesty is good, in moderation. In big doses most of my guy friends will tell any girl that its scary, even me, and I don't even like them like that. Men do want to know the real woman, just not THAT fast. Hang in there. I'm sure there's a guy who will appreciate your open honesty.

It all depends on how you go about it, I have a friend whose brutally honest, and most people think she's a b*tch. Because, her version of honesty is whatever she thinks is right. Whether it is or not.
