Go to a bookstore and pick up a book on casino game strategy. The house usually has the odds on most bets customers make, but you can decrease their edge a little if you educate yourself.
If you can find a poker room that spreads a table with small stakes that you can easily afford, I suggest that you give that a try. Not poker against the house, but poker against other players.
A lot of casinos offer player reward type programs. They give you a card for free and their are often bonuses associated with this card. Some places even give you free money when you get the card or a free t-shirt or something. Make sure you look for one of these in all of the casinos you might visit.
Slots is one of the worst games to play at a casino. If you play slots, look for progressive jackpot machines with HUGE jackpots.
Talk to the locals when you play poker to get the scoop on all the best places to go around town for this or that. Low stakes poker tables are very much a social environment and you will likely find plenty of great information there that can make your trip more enjoyable. Lots of locals play poker, good chance that you will sit down to play with 2 or 3.
If you don't end up playing poker then just talk around to whoever you run across here and there to find out all the best things to do and places to go.

I stayed at the Borgota 2 weeks ago - it rocks. Try the tequila bar in the casino, 3 nights in a row they had a great band (each night different).
Do go to wolfgang pucks restaurant in the Borgota - poor service.
