Besides the usual, such as speaking fluent english and the country's language, what other criteria is required to become an ambassador.
I'm from Israel.

Most ambassadors are senior members of their country's foreign or diplomatic service, and have worked for many years to acheive their positions. So they fufilled any qualifications that their country has to join the diplomatic corps, and then moved up through the ranks with training and experience. A few are non-diplomat appointees, but in my experience (21 years) most of them are also highly or uniquely skilled respresentatives of their own countries, with a good understanding of the host nation.

Ambassadors to foreign countries are appointed by the President. In other words, it´s not what you know, it´s who you know. It´s not even a requirement to speak the local language fluently.

well it would be dangerous for you to be an ambassador to any Islamic country since well...... you know, you need university in foreign relations and usually governments have tests they give to people to see if they are qualified to be a ....
