They are real but they may not be what you think they are. They maybe spirits.
They only two times I am aware of ghosts in the bible is when 1. Jesus died and many people in that grave got out and walked around and 2. When King Saul called but the prophet through the witch and the prophets ghost told Saul he would die that day.

There are no such things as ghosts because when someone dies, they are aware of nothing Ecclesiastes 9:10 tells us: "Whatsoever thy hand findeth to do, do it with thy might; for there is no work, nor device, nor knowledge, nor wisdom, in the grave, whither thou goest." Also, Ecclesiastes 9:5 says: "For the living know that they shall die: but the dead know not any thing--"
Death is likened to sleeping in the Bible. The dead are not able to harm anyone and no one can talk to them. God's Word is very clear about that.
There are wicked spirit creatures called demons, and these we have to be on guard against for they are in league with Satan. The difference here is that these spirit creatures were created as invisible spirits. The demons have the ability to fool humans into believing that the dead can be heard or seen. To try to communicate with the dead is something detestable to God and Christians must never do so, for they would actually be communicating with the wicked spirit forces.
There shall not be found among you any one that maketh his son or his daughter to pass through the fire, or that useth divination, or an observer of times, or an enchanter, or a witch. Or a charmer, or a consulter with familiar spirits, or a wizard, or a necromancer.(someone who tries to communicate with the dead) For all that do these things are an abomination unto the LORD: and because of these abominations the LORD thy God doth drive them out from before thee."

Which ghosts? Yes, ghosts are for real, but they are not spirits of humans. Rather, they are demonic spirits.

The soul that sinneth, it shall die! Ezekiel 18:4
1 Timothy 6:16
Who only hath immortality, dwelling in the light which no man can approach unto; whom no man hath seen, nor can see: to whom be honour and power everlasting. Amen.
I believe that the soul is the mind and it's the body's software which only functions wile it's animate with the breath of life. Just like you need hardware and electricity for software to work. Then we die I believe our "software" remains dorman until God resurrects us and only he can because the breath orginiated from him and was passed down to us from Adam (the first man). Satan can maquerade as dead loved ones. When we resurrect, it will either be to eternal life or no life at all (your software is deleted from God's hard drive). Like when you're naughty on cyberspace, your account can be cancelled! Hell comes from heaven and restores the Earth.

Ghosts are product of the imagination or low frequency sounds.

Yes. Even the Bible speaks of wandering spirits. However, I believe we need to be careful of them. Many are likely to be demons attempting to deceive people.
