We've owned cats in the past, but it's only since we got our latest pair of four-month-old kittens that I've been sure I'm allergic. It's not terrible, but I get very sneezy when I'm around them. Anything I can do about without giving them up?

Are the new kittens long hair vs. previously owned short hair cats? You can go to the doctor to get shots but all the shots are is small dosages of what you are allergic to. Time alone will take care of that and save you the expense of testing and shots. I'm allergic to my cat. I take an allergy med and still have some problems but I love her and she's worth it. Make sure you keep the kittens brushed well and the excess hair dusted up and vacuumed up.

I have had cats for over 50 years. When I got a Himalayan cat she bothered mine and my granddaughters allergies. I hated to get rid of her after 3 yrs but it was senseless to keep being sick. I gave her to a good friend who loves her. After we FINALLY got rid of all of her fur and toys we have been much better. The other cat I had at the time is still here and doesn't bother us. She is a Heinz 57 black and white. Hope you find a solution.

I would give it some time for you to adjust. Have you been to the doctors about your allergies? Have you tried any allergy meds such as Claritin?

I too have bad allergies and asthma. I am on Flonase allergy meds and I take Claritin-D sometimes.

I cannot imagine my life without my kitty.

Yes. A doctor can give you shots to control the allergy. See him about it. Or there are a number of OTC medicines that can control the symptoms.

Good luck!

It's all just a matter of personal preference. I have short hair and guys like it. And i prefer a guy with short hair over a man with long hair because long tresses tends to make guys look too girly.
