my friend has been being super weird lately, she thinks she's fat.and what she thinks is that if she just doesn't eat & exercises alot that she'll get skinny. it really bothers me! anyone have experience with this, or know what to do? it would be kind of weird to talk to her parents about it, because her mom is really mean and sometimes hits her. and her dad is a drunk. so i really need help. i really don't want to loose my best friend!

you might have to work at her little by little (not too much because it could push her away & she may shut you out). start by complimenting her that she looks good, but also on other aspects not dealing with her looks. low self esteem often times is the rout of this kind of problem, so building it up may help. however, be careful not to compliment her too much on looks if you see that she is loosing much weight as this could encourage her. try to make the compliemnts on other things about her & her character.

hope this helps!

Whoa! This is difficult. I don't see anything that will help her except to take her to a psychologist. If it also doesn't help, she must be put inside a mental hospital.

hmm... it seems that it really has nothing to do with her weight, she probley can't deal with all the things going on around her my dad is a drunk and believe me it ain't easy when you have to deal with that. She seems to be taking all of these problems out on herself her body, because she can't fix whats around her she trys to fix herself. My sister had this exact problem when she was my age she's older now and has gotten over that. thank the Lord. Just be there for her as much as you can and maybe tell her hey why don't we go to the gym and work out together let's both be more healthy. they say people that excerise together are more balanced between weight and emotional issues. cuz they feel support. hope this helps. I'll pray for you and her.

i think dat u should talk to her. she need a friend at dis time, and u need to tell u dat bad things will happen if she doesn't eat. tell her she can lose weight da healthy way that is easy. it might sound mean but, tell her she looks bad. tell her she is way too skinny and she looked beeeutiful before she stopped eating. it'll be hard, but if she really is ur best friend den it'll be worth it. trust me!

You can talk to a counselor or psychologist about it. If you don't have access to one you can go to http://www.geocities.com/helpprob click on Psychology, Eating Disorders, then click on Links You can probably find a counselor through e-mail
