Fate is the same as luck., which would be, all things fall into place by chance. We do not have Free will. And we do not live by fate. But, all life is pre-ordained. Thus, God has everything pre-destined. He made a plan and we are following it according to His will. Not by our own will, and not by fate, but, by predestination, which is God's will.

Man has free will. Just because God knows what choices we will make doesn't mean he is controlling us. Here is an example on a very basic level. I give my students two choices of homework, I already know what they will pick because I've been around them long enough. Or, I know a student will have the option of college or work and I know what he/she will ultimately choose three years down the road, b/c I know their personality. Now, I'm human, and I get it wrong sometimes.. but God created us, so he knows our heart. With that being said, there are examples in the Bible of people changing God's mind. Moses did it, and a few others were given a longer life because of the decisions they made.

There's a difference between knowing everything and controlling everything. For example, you can "know", based on their previous experience and behavior, how a close friend would react to something. Does that mean that because you know what they will do, they don't have the choice to do it or not?
God being all-knowing just emphasizes the free will we have. If we didn't have free will, God wouldn't allow anyone He knew wouldn't follow him and love him to even exist! But there are plenty of people in this world who don't believe in Him, who go against His will, and yet here they are, free to choose what to do with their lives even though He knows it's not what's best for them.

God knowing everything that man will do before he does it, does not negate free will. Just because He knows what we will do and allows us to do it, does not mean we are being forced to do something, the choice is still ours and and we are allowed to choose good or bad. Just because He knows which we will choose, does not imply that we have no choice. If you were hungry and I were to offer you a plate of manure or a bar of chocolate to eat, I think it is safe to say I know which you will choose, but it does not take away from your freedom to choose. I would say you would choose the chocolate, but God would even know if you were foolish enough to choose the manure.

The bible is just a collection of stories...not a good source of truth and honest information for the current time. We all have free will choices in our lives. There is a plan...God is always in charge of the plan...a time to live, a time to die. What we do in between these markers is a measure of our own free will choices.

The Bible is a book, a literary work of fiction, it doesn't dominate my life.
I believe that to a larger extent I am in control of my own destiny, however there is an almost infinite amount of variables, some helps and others hindrances that I negotiate on my way through life.
It's mostly free will vs luck, not fate.

God knows Everything. He let man and woman be part of his creation and his creativity, thus gave them intelligence, then he gave them Free Will, Choice and Freedom. Now, he lets us choose (free will). He has blocked us from seeing the future (except when he reveals to us through prophets etc), so if something unexpected happens to us, we think it's fate, but that's not out of God's knowledge, because he is all knowing. When we pray in faith (and fast), we ask God to help us (now) or in future, and that in a way is revelation that it will happen. I hope I didn't confuse you, and I hope this helps you. Feel free to ask me if not clear. Thanks.

Rather than write you a book that explains why I believe the way I do, I am going to include a link for you that talks about that very subject. If you are really interested in finding the answer to your question, you will find the article enlightening. If you are just looking for an argument, sorry, can't help.

I believe your assumption that just because someone knows what you will do in any situation then you have no free will to choose...
I am fallable... if I expect a friend of mine who is helping me to do something that I ask him to do (that is normal for the helper to do)... then... he still has free will to choose to do it or not... but... I know that he will do it... or... I know as much as any human can know what another will do...
well... God knows you much better than I do... so he knows what you will do in any situation... he does not set up all of the situations for you... other people with free will do most of them...
you have free will to choose what you will do... after you choose... you do not get to choose the consequences of your choices and actions.

That's the mystery of God.
We are free to choose whatever path we will follow, and at the same time God knows what path we will choose.
It would hurt our brains to spend too much time thinking on this subject.
