Call your local animal control officer and ask for advice. Laws are different depending upon where you live. While waiting for someone to take the bird, make sure it is protected from predators (cats, etc.) and provide it with some shade and water. DO NOT handle it - it could have West Nile Virus or some other disease that is easily transmitted to humans.

Hiya im currently rearing 2 baby wood pigeons that were found.
If it is injured you can try approaching it quietly and placing a towel over it so that you can pick it up without struggling too much. Place it in a box with a shallow dish of water and put it in a quiet place until you can take it to a vet. Most birds pass away from shock over night, but if it is still with you, most vets will treat it for you or put it to sleep if its injuries are too bad to treat.
hope this helps
good luck!

You could try and phone the rspca but they are rubbish so i would not hold your breath at them helping.
When we had an injured pigeon we phoned the bloke who lives by us who races them. He was great and came to collect it and nursed it back to health. If it is a racing pigeon who is not that badly hurt you will have a better chance of getting someone to come and get it and help.
good luck

What i would do is check the bird out and if it's serious put it in a cardboard box and then give it some bread and leave it for a bit as it may recover and then call the RSPCA as birds carry different diseases!!!! (bird flue)

Oh, poor pigeon! What i would do is not have it exterminated, but it could have germs. Call a professional who will help it and take care of it until it is healthy.

My advice is to get in touch with an animal society for wild animals or birds. Even if just to get expert advice. They might even take it off your hands and treat it themselves

Gently lift it into some sort of container eg. small carboard box and take it to your local vets. They don't normally charge for wild creatures.

tricky one if you kill it you could be done for cruelty so give rspca a ring and they'll advise. until then keep it in dark to calm it down.
