I recently checked my credit scores and this is what came up...

Transunion: 503
Equifax: 459
Experian: 574

I have noticed numerous errors in all 3 reports but didn't think it was worth my time to fix... I'm beginning to think I was wrong.

Is it normal for there to be such a large descrepancy in scores? what suggestions can you give me to make this go up.

If you check out this post of mine http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;...
you'll see my intentions. I'm thinking I'm screwed. Any hope out there?

It matters significantly if you want to buy a house or car and receive a good interest rate.

First thing you do is pay all of your bills on time, every time.

Second is to review the credit discrepancies and call each creditor, get the response in writing and request that they forward the information to all 3 credit bureaus.

Call and check with the credit companies...I think the creditor has 30 days to respond. If they do not respond, request that the bureau remove this from your credit history. Make sure you contact all 3.

Actually it is not normal for the credit bureaus to have large discrepancies in your risk score, if the information is correct. All three credit bureaus are to have essentially the same information.

The errors are most assuredly what have caused this discrepancy. You need to get this corrected. It may take up to six months to complete it with all three bureaus, but well worth it, especially if these scores are lower then what your credit should actually reflect.

Currently your scores are in a "poor" region. You should get your credit score above 600, preferable 650 and if at all possible shoot for over 700.

there is always hope to fix your credit and depending on how young you are..there is even more hope...

i suggest calling each credit beueraau (sp?) immediately and discussing with them each problem that is on your credit report. And if something needs to be done , they will tell you..but you can probably do a little bit of it without their help...

1. You can change all of your credit cards to different numbers...just call your credit card companies and they will be more than happy to do it for you.
2. You can change your name if it is really serious.

Yes, it is normal, and yes, if there are errors, you should dispute them. Every little bit helps, when you're at the bottom of the credit score scale.

Those are pretty bad scores. Follow the instructions regarding the errors ASAP.
