NEVER buy a Kodak digital camera, NEVER!!! They are the most aweful pieces of garbage, all of them , no matter which one. I worked for a camera store, and I saw more Kodaks break than any other brand. They are very cheaply manufatured, and do not offer the quality that most others have. Sony is usually a good choice, but they can be hit or miss sometimes. The problem with them is the customer service if you do get a defective Sony. They do not want you to return it to the store you purcheased it at, you are supposed to deal with their customer service, which means mailing it, and other headaches. But you may not have that problem. So, if you must pick between the Sony and the Kodak, definitely Sony. But I have found the best quality with Canon. Olympus and Fuji are also great, but not as user friendly.

Currently, the Sony DSC-H5 is the best camera in that class of ultrazoom camera. Also, Kodak makes inferior products.
