A preacher at one of the many churches I went to once said that if Adolf Hitler confessed his sins and was truly sorry for them and asked forgiveness through Jesus C., as he sat in his burning bunker, that he would be forgiven. I don't know if I agree with this.
How do you scholars feel about it?

If we believe Hitler the many many times he said he believed in Jesus and Christian theology is correct. Then yes Hitler is in Heaven and all the Jews he murdered are in Hell (including the little children)

Nice religion

I seriously doubt that he is in heaven. since he dleiberately led the execution of 6 million people, his sin is mortal and unforgivable. He could not possibly have confessed his sins before death, nor do I believe that he was sorry for them.

Jesus will forgive us for our sins if we repent and beg forgiveness for those sins. I cannot understand that Hitler would soften to the point of begging Jesus to forgive him for sending out the order to kill millions of people that he hated. Then he committed suicide to avoid any the consequences! He knew that there was no way out, so he took his own life.

I don't think anyone could be saved from that. Do you?

The sins that Adolf Hitler committed are no worse than the ones you and I commit. Every sin is an act of defiance against God. We have the assurance that through faith Jesus does forgive our sins.

Matthew 12:31And so I tell you, every sin and blasphemy will be forgiven men, but the blasphemy against the Spirit will not be forgiven.

That's true. Anyone can go to heaven if we confess with our mouths and accept Jesus Christ as our personal Lord and Savior. But, we have to truly believe in our hearts though. If he just did that thinking he automatically goes to heaven then no. God knows whats truly in our hearts. So, whatever was in his heart when he accepted God will determine where he goes.

Hitler is in heaven, yes.
He was forgiven of his sins, as were all those innocents he killed.
All men recieve heaven throught the sacrifice of Jesus Christ the Saviour

He shot himself in order to not get punished by a just court. The place called 'heaven' does not exist, neither does Hell. All Hitler did was cowardly escape to the grave, where he would never have to assume the consequences of his horrible acts, and would just rot in the ground. I'd spit on his grave.

I guess that he could, Jesus will forgive whomever he will forgive. How do you know that Hitler's actions were really evil or maybe they were the actions caused by a serious mental illness that he could not control? It is not our place to judge him... we abhor his actions... but not the man behind them.

Yes, this is what the bible says that if you confess your sins and ask him for forgiveness and you really mean it from the bottom of your heart then anyone is welcome in the Kingdom of God "Heaven". if you confess him Lord and Saviour.
