Seem's like it would help God, and that it would be to much work for someone who wanted to be a king.

Hey. All that happened was that as God's 'top cover', I found Myself above God on his throne. I just appreciated the position, and he decided that I was putting Myself above him. For that I got kicked out of Heaven?! A third of God's Angels agreed that this was unfair, and they were kicked out as well. Then God had the nerve to plan to replace us with spirit/physical DIRT FORMS. Talk about insulting! NONE of you humans deserve to take MY place in Heaven! And I'll do whatever it takes to make sure none of you GET there!

Stupid dirt-things!

Is it the job of the Devil to perform evil? I would disagree with that , well I don't believe in the Devil, but let me say this: I do think that is would be the job of the Devil to show PEOPLE how evil they have been. Whether it is the executive that stepped on so many people without ever noticing, or the murderer who enjoyed the killing he or she had done, or the person that got drunk and got behind the wheel of a motor vehicle just to kill an innocent bystander. But then again what if it were a convicted child molester that was killed, then is it truly evil, or an act of contrition to offset the sins of the driver?

Do you see my point? Is it the job of the Devil to be and perform evil? Or is it just to show those people the evil that they have done? Someone has to be able to say "OK, that was a truly evil thing that you did". I think that humans know that there are evil things that we all do, intentional or not, but that when it comes time to choose our actions, it would be at that point that it would be up to God to oversee or the Devil. I mean that we make the choice, not the powers that be. They will just follow our lead, to goodness or the other. But that's just my opinion.

Evil is what a man perceives it to be and God knew from the moment He created Lucifer than he would rebel and be cast out.

The Eastern beliefs embrace this juxtaposition, they rely on both yin and yang to support and uphold the fabric of life. The Rolling Stones sang about "Sympathy for the devil." It should all however be kept in strict perspective and understood that evil is as evil does.

Evil definitively is a force, a heebie jeebie, a feeling that goes against what can be called good. It is an anti law, it is the opposite, it is against, it is in opposition to, it is anarchy and to say evil and mean it in some spooky, Disney, devilish man in a red suit kind of way is just ignorant.

Evil is the opposite of good, the negative end of a numberline that measures love, and good essentially and scientifically making each a part of the same thing but different opposing ends of one spectrum divided into degrees of feeling, acting, behaving, experiencing.

I think every man with half a brain who is NOT out to prove some stupid personal point, in his heart, understands. Even in a state of being evil, he understands what that is and what it is not unless he is completely sociopathic and void of the ability to pervieve the different degrees of sanity and moraity and define them within his own self as well as when observing them in others. All of it however, is a choice either way.

the devil pulls followers away from GOD and heavenly things so that he has new followers the devil that is but some times GOD
does things to test u and it maybe a rough time for u so then the devil does something that looks good at the time but is really bad and slowly pulls u away from GOD so when things are bad don't
go the easier way because GOD has something great for u in the long run the hard way is the Nero way of life to GOD and the easier way is the wide road to hell GOD is always with u

Ya' know I think it really urks Lucifer that The Divine created an order of the world where Angels are subserviant to God, yet God endowed humans with Free Will.

I believe that Lucifer believes that since Angels are much more powerful than measly humans, that humans should be subserviant to Angels as well as God.

My sense is that Lucifer's acts of evil are a consistent:
1. Punishment of humans for their preferential status with God.

2. Reminder to God that humans are not worthy of free will. If humans so easily defy God's will, and succumb to evil's influence, then they are not worthy of their preferencial status.

3. Hurtful jabs directed toward God to punish God for holding humans dearer than angels.

In the same way that the Hatfield's & McCoy's seemed to be blinded to the fact that their hurtful actions consistently caused their own side pain, because of the retaliation and escalation, Lucifer seems to be unable to see beyond jelousy to understand that this endless battle with God only futher alienates the two. And, according to all the scholarly works I've read about angels, it seems that Lucifer has always wanted to re-insert him/itself back in to the good graces of God.

Just my perspective ...

The thing is about any believable villain, and Satan fits the bill, is that he has to be doing what he does because he/she believes it's the best thing for him/her.
In Satan's case, he could be doing it for many reasons. He could believe that if he gets enough souls that he can challenge God. It could be that he epitomizes the old adage that misery loves company. It could be that he has gone insane and , like Batman's Joker, runs based on an internal logic that defies conventional wisdom. It could be that he hasn't really sat down and thought about what he's doing and is just blindly stumbling along doing what he's doing 'cause it's what he's been doing.
Take your pick or create your won, but I think most of these actually work as potential reasons.

The Devil works to take people from the path of God. To lure them away from Jesus and the gates of Heaven. Most of the time the Devil does perceptively good things to get you away from God.

To over throw God and become the King of heaven. That's how he became the devil, and he's still trying, trying by tempting us, starting off small, just like a drug dealer, to get us hooked into the seven deadly sins.

Evil is the opposite of good. The devil wants to make everyone miserable. God wants everyone to be happy.

The evil that he does is not random with no cause. He does evil so as to make people go against the God.
Check out the book of Job in the bible.
