because we are human, and therefore always make mistakes, will always sin...not all of us will feel remorse... and when we do, we beat ourselves up, feel useless and hopeless, not good enough, etc. I believe that God sent Jesus Christ to die for our sins, because it was the ONLY WAY for us to be "cleansed" of all judgement, of all guilt, and only thru Jesus will God be able to see us as his pure children. there was no other way... which is why, we as his children should be Grateful and REJOICE in the sacrifice, instead of constantly judging and bullying other people. we should all embrace each other, and be joyful that we are given the opportunity to BE FORGIVEN of past, present and future sins~ Read Romans 5-8... all the bad, negative things in the past, use it to become a better person in the future; all we have to do is accept and believe and receive God's Peace, and his Grace is sufficient. we can get up each day, start anew, and continue to live in a path of righteous as best we can. if we stray, it's ok, because as God's Children we will continue to choose to do the 'right thing'. this was the ONLY way we can do that; without Jesus, there would be no forgiveness, only punishment and heartache.

God is perfect. Jesus had to die to cover our sins with his Blood. The Israelites and many other cultures, offered animal sacrifices for many different reasons. If Christ had not shed His Blood, there would be no hope for anyone. We, no matter how hard we try, can not earn our way into Heaven in and of ourselves.

Because he is a thoughtful God. Just think. He wanted to share in suffering just we must as we live on this earth. Since Adam and Eve commited the first sin, our plot has been to work and toil at the sweat of our brow. We suffer heartache and misery and humiliation. And God was willing to participate in suffering also and so he sent his only Son to redeem our sins. It is a beautiful thing for God to suffer as we suffer. What other "god" would do that for those he loves? What greater love than to die for someone you love?

The wages of sin is Death. We deserve to Die and Jesus paid that price for us. God told Adam that the wages of him eating from the tree is death. I personally think there is a double meaning for that. The first death is the ability to die. The second death is to be apart from God forever. Since God told him that, it can not be taken away, because God doesn't make mistakes. So to answer your question Can he do it? Yes. Would he? No because he can not contradict himself. Since none of us will live forever we will die physically. However, our spiritual death was paid for by a blameless man.

There are many possibilities. But I'd say the biggest reason is that a blood sacrifice is required on OUR behalf, so that we might realize that SIN BRINGS DEATH.

- Before Jesus came to be the last sacrificial Lamb animals were slaughtered because blood is required for a covenant.
- After Jesus was sacrificed we needed only to sincerely ask for forgiveness and it is done.

God cannot look upon sin. I believe He would have forgiven us, but we would not have been reunited with Him and would not have been able to be a clean vessel for His Holy Spirit.

Think about what you are asking.
Without some form of payment for our crimes the judicial system would fall apart.
