Yep, that's right. Stupid people think they know everything already and have nothing left to learn so they stop trying to learn. And the smart people know they DON'T know everything. That's why they keep trying to learn new things, which in turn makes them smarter still.

I have to say, that sadly, people who reallly DO know it all, get a bum wrap by those who think they do...in fact, to the point that they have to act stupid to apease others in many ways. It is unfortunate, that people want to be respected so bad, that they must obtain a world of useless information to impress others. But, then, on the other hand, a kind of boring person, can make themself into a much more interesting person by learning as much as he/she can about general topics. But the one who is always right, and never wrong,...and won't even let you speak, well, we must be patient, and recognize they are really hurting inside...

It pretty much boils down to humility and tact. These are both hard lessons to learn, I know from experience. *grin*
Some people feel they have a lot to prove. Whether you are smart or dumb as a box of rocks, if you have humility and tact, you won't come across as a know-it-all.

yes, that is because they lack self esteem and they probably know they are ignorant..I have noticed myself and they tend to be the best BS er's ever.. It has bothered me in the past, and I have just learned to get away from it and if they decide they need help, they will get it..
