well if we used a certain bomb it MIGHT work but I highly doubt it. plus I dont think that if we drop a bomb in the eye while its over Cuba, orHavana, Jamica, etc. they would apprieciate it very much, and if we drop it into the ocean it might cause tidal waves to those island crountries. it would have to be hand detonated so that this doesnt happen.

This theory has already been tested and has proven to be ineffective. Though no actual tests were conducted it has been simulated several times.

If fact here is an answer given by the National Hurricane Center

Q: Wouldn't a huge bomb weaken a hurricane?

A: A bomb or bombs would be a dead end since the amount of energy a hurricane is releasing and the size of its circulation would make any bomb, including the largest nuclear bomb, seem more futile than trying to stop a charging elephant by throwing a ping-pong ball at it. As noted above, hurricanes release tremendous amounts of heat energy. In fact, since hurricanes are "heat engines" that depend on the temperature contrast between warmth at the ocean surface and cold air aloft, we could wonder whether the heat from any kind of bomb would actually add to the storm's natural heat supply, making the storm stronger. Trying to heat the upper atmosphere with bombs, to lessen the heat contrast, would be like trying to heat the city of Minneapolis in January by opening the windows of a house.

If you dropped a nuclear bomb in a hurricane, it would probably just add it's energy to the storm as well as making it a radioactive storm too. Any smaller bomb would have no effect.

NO. I once read that, in order to get even close to matching the energy output of even the weakest hurricane, we'd have to set off an H-bomb every SECOND for the duration of the storm.

if anything, the bomb would just fall straight down cause the eye of a hurricane is the calmest location of a twsiting and swirling hurricne
