Bruce was the best that america had seen in the 70's. at that time martial arts were very young in america, and people were easly impressed (you would be too if you were ****** outta your mind 12 hrs. a day). not saying Bruce wasn't good because he obviously was, but people put too much stock into people like him. what about the old master who still lived in china and nobody heard of him because he was too busy training to make a name for himself? there were many people better than bruce in and out of the states at that time. sorry.

In actual combat, you're not going to do spinning round kicks to someone's face. Unless someone can show where he was involved in real life situations, I would have my doubts. A lot of store front karate schools teach things that aren't really practical, except in point scoring, non-contact sporting events or a movie scene. Others schools are better and more geared toward the street.

While a lot was, of course, choreographed he was very much the real deal. He even went as far as developing his own brand of martial arts that is widely respected and taught today. Not only was he a true martial artist he was an innovator in the field.

he really can kick butt, of course since it is acting he can't go full blast, but at tournaments he kicked butt and could make someone fall with his famous one inch punch.
