Why are so many people interested in others religious beliefs, or spiritual beliefs?

I too find other religions fascinating, what I can't stand is when someone puts another religion down, whether the person is a believer or non believer.

Not that they are really interested, it is that they think everyone should believe the same thing as they believe. Sort of a control issue.

I find it fascinating. Hey, maybe I'll learn something, which is always a thrill. I just recently learned what "shirk" is in Islam. It's making other things equal to or more important than God. It can be worshipping Jesus, it can be putting pride or money or fame or pleasure above all else including God. Christians (and others) teach the same thing, but most don't use the word "shirk" 'cause most of us don't speak Arabic. It means, making other things into your god instead of God.

I love gaining knowledge, it's obligatory for humans to gain knowledge from the cradle to the grave. It's so fun, and it also lets us know first what we're talking about if we are asked something or feel compelled to speak up about something.

I love finding common ground with people, and seeing their happiness when someone is open and not trying to judge.

Curiosity and also, they wonder if they can find a bit of wisdom in others' beliefs too. Religions are a fascinating subject.

I am curious to learn what kind of things people believe in. While I may not hold the same faith, I respect it, until the person who told me about their belief gives me a reason not to. But then again, it's the person I disrespect, not necessarily the faith (but sometimes...).

As for me, I am an atheist Satanist.

Variety is the spice of life. Curiosity piques the cat. Nothing that humans do is alien to me.

They are too busy judging people b/c they think that they are just perfect, when they, like every other humans, have made mistakes! Nothing better to do I guess.

I like to learn. I like to know what people think, and why. Knowledge is good.

Because God is so unimportant to them they can't stop thinking about Him.
