LOL, don't worry about spelling mistakes.
Jesus can forgive any sin...even the sin of answering questions in Yahoo while still in my P.J.s

I don't know that I've noticed whether or not the people that attack spelling are Christians or not. I do notice usually when someone attacks other's spelling they curse like crazy! Although, no one is perfect! They could be a Christian...cursing for the day. But anyways. I don't like it when people attack spelling mistakes & all that. Some people don't know how to spell. Get over it. They still have every right to be on here. If you can't read it, go on to another question or whatever. I saw several people in high school that had lots of trouble spelling & reading & I suppose it's the same reason I had a lot of trouble with math. I needed more help & more one on one time to understand. Basically, I got left behind & never had enough help. I noticed when someone would give me more help I always improved. If they don't know, they don't know. Nobody's perfect, all in their own little ways.

It's not the Christians...it's the English teachers and thesis editors.

Ok, I happen to be a Christian English teacher and thesis editor.

Personally, I am usually pretty merciful about spelling on the Internet. Typos happen. Especially to me.

The ones I tend to mess with are the blatant racists, trolls, and egomaniacs.

We all have our peeves and people we are peeved by. We all handle them differently, especially here on the Internet. That's my way.

In the case of people who just apparently didn't know how to spell a word, I just model the correct spelling back by using it in a sentence in my response.

How does Jesus feel about spelling mistakes? Well, spelling isn't something that affects our souls one way or another. Spelling does affect our ability to be taken seriously in the world of written communication.

But to bring your question into focus, since Jesus loves the sinner, but hates the sin, I would say that Jesus would love the bad-speller, and not give a flip about the bad-spelling. ;-)

I don't criticize others' spelling "a lot" -- but there have been times when I've read messages that have called Christians "stupid" and "ignorant" and which have contained very glaring spelling mistakes.

I just think it's funny that people who can't spell properly are calling other people "stupid" and "ignorant" just because their beliefs differ from their own.

That's the only time I ever get on anyone's case about spelling.

And I don't do it when it's likely to just be a typo -- but if it's obviously not a typo (writing "satin" instead of "Satan" for instance), and it appears in a message which is calling Christians "ignorant," then I pounce.

And why not? If someone's going to call others "ignorant" in a message that has glaring spelling mistakes, they deserve it!

It's not a question of being Christian or not. I don't know how you derived that opinion. It's more a matter of pointing out the lack of quality in people's writing skills these days, especially noticeable here in the Yahoo Q&A forum. It's not real hard to proofread the couple/few sentences that you type. I'm sure many users here are young and/or even from foreign countries. I'm just one of the many who feel the quality of the written English here is appalling.

By the way, "a lot" is two words. ;-)

Jesus, as a rabbi, would have been attentive to spelling.

Corrections made with a red-pen are easy to see, so Jesus would understand that red makes sense for corrections.

I don't agree that Christians are the most notorious spell-checkers on this site.

You spelled "Christian" wrong.

I am not a Christian.

I don't. But I'm sure that if I made a spelling mistake, and atheist would be quick to point it out. Why do some atheists call me an idiot for being Christian when I don't ever use that kind of mean language with them?

I attack spelling sometimes and I'm not a Christian, but I'm sure Jesus would say there are more important things in life that please God. But you have to remember, too, that a misspelled word in many languages can translate into another word with a totally alternate meaning. It is important in those instances to make sure your spelling is correct so as not to cause misunderstandings.

I am sure Jesus cares nothing about abstractions invented by men.

IF the Jesus of the bible is God, then I am sure He is much more concerned by man's hatred of other men, and the petty reasoning he uses to feel elevated above the section of people that he hates.

Lol! He wouldn't use a red pen. He would gently correct you with a green one and a smiley face that proclaimed how great your correctly spelled words were.
