DO NOT believe what other's tell you. Other books are written by Satan. That is what made me realise that priests and nuns were liars. Can't YOU see that?

I can...I was brought up Catholic and now I'm a proud and true atheist. They always have an answer to questions that disprove their faith, because their religion is based in Faith, not reality. It's based on believing things because they are just taken as axiomatic, not proven. People, if you haven't noticed, enjoy ignoring the facts.

I'm glad to see another Doors fan.

First of all, I've been Catholic all my life (though, up till about four years ago, not a very good one) and I've never heard a priest or a nun tell me that "other books are written by Satan."

If anything, they encouraged me to read books.

Second, do not judge all priests and nuns based on the actions and words of a few of them.

I'm not defending what the priests and nuns told you -- but just remember that they are human too, and like all other humans, they have their faults and hangups and occasionally say things that they shouldn't say.

They aren't liars -- but in their zeal, they went overboard with what they told you. Their intentions were good, although obviously their methods were not.

Finally, nothing in official Catholic teaching says that "other books" besides Church-approved ones are "written by Satan."

If anything, the Catholic Church holds art and literature and other academic disciplines in very high esteem -- for centuries, the Church has often supported and patronized such disciplines.

If you want to "talk" about anything else regarding the Church, feel free to PM me.

I was once raised a Baptist. I learned they have been most effective instructing side of the Truth and I grew into extra Charismatic - Pentecostal ideals. Then, while I started learning the Catholic Church - no longer what humans Said approximately it, however what it honestly believes - I observed, as they seek advice from it, The Fullness Of The Faith. I love to comic story that, as a Baptist, I was once just about taught that the Church particularly did not exist among the time the final of the Apostles died and the time that Billy Graham was once born. That's just a in part facetious commentary. Even a cursory appear on the events of the primary century or 2 of the Church will have to get any Protestant puzzling over what else he could have overlooked. And sure, it is pleasant to understand that the Saints have been truly humans with truly quirks as good as Godly virtues.

God will reveal Himself to you if you really want to know Him.
John 8:32 Jesus said"you shall know the truth and the truth shall set you free.
Hebrews 4:12 The word of God is alive and powerful sharper than any two edged sword peircing to the dividing asunder of the soul and the spirit and the joints and the marrow,it is a critic of thoughts and intents of the heart .
All scripture is God breathed.
Read it until you understand it because it will not be man who reveals it to you.
John 3:16 For God loved the world so much that He sent His uniquely born Son so that who ever believes in Him shall never perish but have eternal life.
Salvation depends upon God's grace there is nothing that we can do to earn it.Ephesians 2:8-9.
Take care!

It is possible to be both a Catholic and a Christian. But you have to be very intelligent, and very careful. And you can't believe just any priest or nun. Most are not smart enough to be Christians, and are seduced by the errors embedded in all those traditions.

I am islamic and i've noticed that all catholics question thier faith. If you question it, then it is not pure.If you have to ask yourself does GOD exist(and HE is not the christ), then you are not a true believer.Other books are not from Satan in truth.I am half African American and Chinese, so I accept Islam and Buddhism. Both with great will to submission to PEACE.I have read the bible only once, the quran about 9 times, a book called living religions(speaks about the truth of the worlds largest religions and you will be surprised the workings of the world), and the poetry of Rumi(a great islamic mystic of the 12th century who was an islamic teacher who later in his life came accross a man who inspired him greater than what he has ever encountered. He has the most amazing peotry I have ever read.None of it rhymes, but will have your heart in awe).Books are fundamental in truth. And you must choose your faith.Mine is islamic faith andit teaches me to learn about THE GOD.And that includes everything that exists. From what we know, to learn what we know not.We are not limited to listening to any man, but to the Lord GOD of Israel(ALLAH) in arabic simply means THE GOD.The language barrier causes a lot of conflict without attaining knowledge first. And if you do not read, how do you expect to learn besides the word of another man.My advice is to read what your heart questions and perfect your faith.PEACE!

I left the Catholic church back in 2002. One of the big reasons was because of the lies they tell. You can never get straight answers from the Catholic church. I asked once why a priest was ex communicating some of his people in his church when they were good people but they believed in pro-choice on the abortion issue. I never got a straight answer on that. I can see all the lies that were taught to me now but when I was in the church and didn't think for myself, I was a believer.

I am a Christian....but not Catholic. I have many questions about the teaching systems of the Catholic church. The way to show someone Christ is definitely not trying to scare them. I may sound redundant as I seem to talk about this a lot but....God said that others would know we are christians by our love.

Yeah, those nuns and priests have screwed your whole outlook on life and the way you precieve Christianity!

However, it's your responsibility to seek out for your self the truth that will set you free.

And again, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling!

Of course they are. They may not know it, but the catholic doctrine is completely wrong. There is only one truth, and that is that you need to be baptized in Jesus' name, repent of your sins, and recieve the gift of the Holy Ghost, with the evidence of speaking in tongues. Read Acts 2:38. Try going to a United Pentecostal Church.
