Okay maybe a weird question, but when I lay in bed at night, with my mind running and stressing about my current life issues so conflicted, I wonder if god, my angels and spirit guide hear my thoughts and feel my anguish, or do I have to address them individually or speak out loud?

Since god is whoever or whatever you want him (her, it) to be you decide!

God is the only one who has the power to read your thoughts, He knows what you need before you pray for it. Here a story I've read in a frame picture. "One night one man dreamed he was walking next to Gog on a beach, than the man turned his head and saw their footprints on the sand, but he noticed that in the sadder, anguished and abandonment moments of his life there were only a set of footprints. The man turned to God and asked him "God since I promised to follow you all the way long you promised to be with all the time, How is it that in the moments where I'd most needed you only a 1 set of footprints are shown? With out filling hurts God looked at him and answered "My loved son as I promised to you I' never abandoned you, in the most sadder and sour moments of your life when you may be thought it was hard for you to continue you see one set of footprints because those were the moments I was caring you in my arms." I hope I'd translated this message from Spanish to English sounding with the same meaning. I hope it could help you to keep your life path. God bless you and bless your family.

I'm not a religious person, but was a few years ago.
I think that if you believe in God, and you believe he created you. Why would the maker of such a wonderful creation not be able to hear the crys for help or need for love from us? Sometimes God answers your requests in unseen ways and not directly. But I'm of the belief we don't need to shout to be heard - God may be far away but he can hear our thoughts

Just a few scriptures to show that God knows your thoughts:

1 Chronicles 28:9 (CEV)
9 Solomon, my son, worship God and obey him with all your heart and mind, just as I have done. He knows all your thoughts and your reasons for doing things, and so if you turn to him, he will hear your prayers. But if you ignore him, he will reject you forever.

Genesis 6:5 (KJV)
5 And GOD saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually.

1 Corinthians 3:20 (GNB)
20 and another scripture says, “The Lord knows that the thoughts of the wise are worthless.”

Matthew 9:4 (KJV)
4 And Jesus knowing their thoughts said, Wherefore think ye evil in your hearts?

Matthew 12:25 (KJV)
25 And Jesus knew their thoughts, and said unto them, Every kingdom divided against itself is brought to desolation; and every city or house divided against itself shall not stand:

Here are some for the benefit of speaking:

Romans 10:10 (KJV)
10 For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.

Mark 11:23 (KJV)
23 For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith.

Proverbs 15:29 (KJV)
29 The LORD is far from the wicked: but he heareth the prayer of the righteous.

Notice that when Jesus or His disciples speak, things happen.

God knows even the deepest thoughts inside you, but there is a powerful reality about words, and is that words are spirit and life... you are saved and born again when you confess Jesus as your personal savior, Please get a bible and read Mark 11:22-23, you can see how important what you say is...and yes, God can reach you even if you just think about him, but you will surely want to experience the blessing of a mouth that shouts his Glory, and a mouth that confesses his Word... Bible says he watches over his Word to perform it, so when you say "The Lord is my refuge, I abide under the shadow of his wings" He surely moves angels over you to watch for you and keep you safe... don't ignore that blessing!
Hope is useful to you!

I don't think you asked a weird question. It's just my opinion but, I believe that when you speak to God out loud it somehow makes it more real in your heart. It's less fragmented than when we just speak to him in our minds. To me , God is a real entity, so I prefer to speak to Him out loud as if He were in the flesh and sitting right next to me. It's more easy for me to express complete thoughts to him that way. But this is up to the individual. The important thing is that you speak to him.

I often wonder the same thing. But I like to believe that God and his angels can hear our thoughts. Sometimes when I'm going through something really really bad, I like to pray outloud. It helps to keep my thoughts together and really voice what I'm going through.
Hmm...there must be something in the bible to help us better answer this question. Im gonna look to see if I can find anything...

God knows everything you think and will do in the future. While you an address God in prayer, He know what you are up to, what you want, and what's going on in your life. There is no surprising God or hiding anything from Him. He knows everything, including things that will happen in the future.

There are many types of prayer and God hears all of them. Some people pray with written prayers out of prayer books, some people use a rosary, some people simply mediate and share their thoughts with God, some people talk to him either in their head or outloud. There is prayer in church, in groups and there is prayer individually. There is even prayer through song. He here's them all.

As you develop your prayer relationship with God, you will develop your own style of praying. Sometimes you may feel compelled to speak outloud and sometimes it's fine to simply sit and share your thoughts with him. You can even sing if you want to.

It is good to develop a prayer routine. A special time set aside each day or each week to practice your own kind of prayer. As you do this, your prayer relationship with God will grow and you will develop your own very special prayer experiences with God.

what's good lady. yes, God hears our thoughts, but the reason for actually talking to God is to develop a relationship with Him. I read a great analogy on time. It said that a boyfriend/girlfriend relationship can't work without communication. It's the same with God. We have to communicate with Him in orderto have and develop a relationship with Him. Hope that answers your question and God bless you

God knows your thoughts:

Psalms 139:1-3 O LORD, you have searched me
and you know me.
You know when I sit and when I rise;
you perceive my thoughts from afar.
You discern my going out and my lying down;
you are familiar with all my ways.

When you want to pray words aren't always needed:

Romans 8:26 In the same way, the Spirit helps us in our weakness. We do not know what we ought to pray for, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us with groans that words cannot express.

So, feel your greatest need and, if you can't pray in words, then God, the Holy Spirit, will pray your words for you.
Then thank him in the name of Jesus that your prayers have been heard.
