I might be going out on a limb here but most Jews probably have never read the new testament? They only believe in the old testament

Two problems with your assertion:

a) Romans is in the New Testament; thus, it doesn't apply to Jews, who only regard the Old Testament as Sacred Scripture

b) What makes you think that all Christians fail to abide by Romans 12:17?

For instance, I've often been insulted personally by people on this forum who find my opinions distasteful -- most of these insulters have been homosexuals, those so-called champions of tolerance -- and I've never reciprocated by insulting them back. That's a good rule to follow.

First off the Jews follow the Torah or the old testament as some people know it to be. Second of all for the most part of any religion people do not follow there teachings anymore. (sad but true) they only follow what is convenient for them. If everybody followed there teachings, no matter what religion it all states in the end to love they neighbor in one form or another. If we followed this every one would get along and there would be no more fighting or war or bickering.

Jews don't live by the bible, they don't accept any of the text in the new testament as being from G-d.

Jews follow the Torah, which is composed only of the first five books in the bible. And in those books, G-d is a pretty angry, spitefilled deity who smites folk for the smallest error or for not being his chosen people.

Jews don't believe in the NT.
Christians tend to pick which verses they want to live by.

You're generalizing though. All Christians are not the same, nor are all Jews. Some are pro-war, pro-_____ while others are not. It's not like you can group all Christians together and say that because you all believe in Jesus that you all are going to believe in the same thing.

Because Christians and Jews are also human beings (as you all seem to sometimes forget whenever it is convenient to your cause.) Do you do EVERYTHING your mom and Dad tell you to do ALWAYS? The best we can do as human beings is work things out for ourselves and try the best we can to make sense of all these complex rectory emotions and feelings and ancient...ancient bits of ingrained hatred. It also says in the Bible that

"I will visit your sins from generation to generation." Could this be the result of their not listening to God's laws? What happens when you fail to obey your parents? Sometimes it's all cool and sometimes... POW ! you get it right in the **** and waddaya know? They were right, same thing, different father!

Why would a Jewish person choose to ever look at the NT? Of course most Jews are scholarly by nature and would at least give it a passing glance...but they'd never buy into anyting contained within it. PEACE!

There are many parts that neither follow. Like "joyful is he that smashes children upon the rocks". They are violent religions but most people follow what they want to and conviently forget the rest.
