If you are talking about the littermaid, oh yea, it is worth it, you might need a couple of them for that many cats, I have 2 cats and in order to reuse the tray, I have to empty it every day. I couldn't do with out it. They work great as long as you don't over fill it. They have a fill line, but still that is way too much litter and the box won't work like it should. I use Tidy cat, the new Tidy cat with tidy lock, and there is no smell at all!!!!! P. S. they come with some new replaceable trays, but you can buy them as well. I bought the mega, unit, it is stronger and it is quieter. littermaid is guaranted for a year, and they stand by that warrantee, they sent me a new one when I complained when one broke before the warrantee was up, no overfilling, not so hard on the motor. Our first one lasted over a year, and the next one not as long, ( my cats poop and pee like horses, but this Mega, unit, really is the way to go, much stronger.

I got a Litter Robot about a week ago, and with nine cats, it's a godsend. I used to scoop 6 litterboxes every day, now it's 2 normal litterboxes every other day (the cats are still adjusting and some of them simply don't like a covered box) and changing the bag in the Robot twice a week....
It's already been worth the money.

I have the litter maid and it works great. I modified mine though. The box was not big enough and i wanted a truly maintenance free system. Built a special box and trash bag system with a CPU fan that exhausts the the bags air and fumes outside the home via drier tube. I never smell cat poop and only have to change it when full. Caution! CAT CLUMPS ARE HEAVY! USE EXTRA STRENGTH BAGS!

My sister has had 3 of them and altho good they wore out rather quickly for the price she paid for them. She found it more practical to just buy the covered litter boxes and the really good clumping litter. She has 2 cats.,one that is 20yrs old and acts like and gets around like a 2 yr old.

It works well for 1 cat- any more and the motor just can't seem to keep up. I bought one when I had 4 cats. It lasted about 4 months, then the motor just went kaput. It really was convenient, though.

They work well but the motor gives out fast. What i found that works better is a litter box that you roll to one side then the other it has a little

When they are working they are great...
I have 3 cats and it lasted about 6 months... they are really expensive so it depends if they fit in your budget.
