My cats (I have 4) rip the litter bag all to shreds when they use the litter box. It makes quite the mess. Any ideas as to how to get them to stop?
I keep their nails trimmed, and have tried using 2 bags, taping the bags, etc to no avail.
Any ideas are appreciated!

The Littrmaid, I had to get one, our bou wouod shread anything in the cat box and throw litter up to 8 feet! he thinks he is a Horse! That took care of the problem and the house stays clean and smell free.

I use world's best kitty litter and ditch the litter bag. You can't really prevent them from tearing up the plastic, then it just makes a huge mess! World's Best clumps so well that it doesn't make much of a mess. Just be sure to clean the litter daily, and wash out the litter pan a couple times a month.

my 5 month old male kitten does the same thing. how much cat litter do you pour in there for them? maybe it needs to be a little deeper. do you have a covered litter box for your cats? I've realized that this works better than just a regular litter pan. mine is an oversized covered litter box. my 2 year old female doesn't do this because she is declawed (I truly regret having that done to her), but my kitten is horrible about it. there's really no GOOD answer for your question. I'm sorry I couldn't help more. I'm going through the same situation though. Good Luck!

make sure It's cleaned every day and if it star to smell change the dirt and clean the container and fill with fresh new litter, always keep it clean,a clean cat always covers their stuff so they need enough litter in the box it works better without the plastic bag on the bottom of the pan.

How deep is your litter box? Maybe you need to add extra litter so they won't scratch all the way to the bottom of the box. Other than that, I don't have any suggestions. Hope this helps.

I have this problem also. I do not think there is a solution. Make sure there are no air pockets is the only thing I could suggest.
