Another example of extreme Christian hypocrisy. It's morally reprehensible to kill in a video game like GTA but its perfectly OK to kill people in a game based on their religious beliefs.
This game is the worst example of video game violence out there. I am not against violence in video games usually, but this game could be considered a hate crime. If you give someone the option to kill someone based solely on their beliefs (even in a game) and justify it with an idea that the majority holds to be true (though in reality it is extremely unsound) there is no other term that correctly classifies this action.

I would say yeah the game is. But the majority of those who claim Christianity have been encouraging violence against those who don't agree with them (Jews, Muslims, Gays, Communists, and many more) for years and even centuries (The Crusades, The Inquisition, The Holocaust, Manifest Destiny and many more of those type things as well). Essentially this is the same thing so many (though not all Christians and certainly not true Christians) have been doing for so long that they really don't know how to do any different, nor even realize that they should be doing different.

As a former game designer I used to excuse the violent games insisting the games had nothing to do with violence in kids or adults.
However I have since come to see that it does indeed feed the mind. True weaker minded people or people with a few mental issues can be influenced by these games.
If a person claims to be Christian he or she should NEVER indulge any simulated violence because in effect its murder by proxy. A GAME WITH A CHRISTIAN THEME KILLING PEOPLE? That in itself suggests to others that its okay.
I do not appreciate the misleading material in the Left Behind books which themselves suggest violence against evil doers is quite permissible. Even attempts to kill the Antichrist when the Bible clearly says GOD HIMSELF will destroy the man, not his people.

No, its just a game.
The game is stupid. Its just an attempt at marketing a product to christians who would otherwise not buy video games.
However, sectarian violence is not inspired by video games. People who play video games don't suddenly decide, after playing them, "I think I'll behave like the charachter in the game!"
In the real world, problems like sectarian violence and racism stem from hatred and ignorance. Groups get labled and attacked because jerks need SOMEBODY at whom to vent their unsubstantiated anger.

It's destined to be yet another scapegoat. Pay attention, people. Marilyn Manson doesn't lead to the tragedy of Columbine. Black Sabbath doesn't cause Satanism. Videogames do not encourage violence.

That's disgusting! Promoting violence in the name of God. It's no wonder our children are so messed up - how could they possibly deal with the hypocrisy of our world?

It seems like it's designed to prepare people for a holy war. According to what I heard on T.V., the game is designed so you get 2 points for killing an enemy and -1 for killing one of your own. I did not know that it was morally acceptable to kill people just because they don't believe the same things you do.

I thought that guy wasn't your black friend anymore?
Anyways, I agree.
The LB videogames are a posterboy for conservative Christian hypocrisy. They are a sad, sad excuse for the loving nature of Jesus Christ.

Christianity is built on peace and harmony. But that version of it died out long ago.
