Do you need a passport to travel to Hawaii? Or can we just use our drivers licenses for verification? We're from New Jersey.

I'm asking this question because my passport expired. And I'm wondering if I needed to renew my passport for the sake of going to Hawaii?
And also my spouse has immigration problems and he can't leave the US right now. So we were wondering if we needed some kind of passport just to travel to Hawaii. Or can we just use our Driver's Licenses???
Thanks!

You don't need a pasport to Hawaii because it is part of the US. When they check your ID, just give them your DL. Been there a few times and I am not a US citizen and they never ask for pasport.

You do not need a passport to travel to Hawaii. It is the same as travelling from New Jersey to Pennsylvania. Except that there is a lot of ocean between us and Hawaii. Go and enjoy yourself. You are a citizen of the United States and Hawaii is part of the package.

Hawai`i is part of the United States and the travel requirements are just the same as if you were flying to any other state. Your drivers licenses should suffice as photo ID for your flight. You would only need a passport if you were traveling internationally. Have fun, you're going to love the Aloha State!
