I'm not a Christian and I worship a whole bunch of different Goddesses and Gods.

I think you need to rephrase your question.

I am a Christian, but it is true that there is no proof that there is a God, that is why they don't necessarily believe in it. Think of it like this, all Christianity is, is a book, a large group of followers, and a theory. We know much of the Bible can't be taken literally, the Old Testament is thrown out to current Christians, and it was written by man. The followers are large in numbers but most Christians really don't understand Christianity, most think that you apply Christian morals at church and for some things but it doesn't have a place in other facets of life. Again, God is basically just a theory, and all you can say is you have to have faith. But I can have all the faith in the world, there still is no proof of a God that I can see. Everything has at least 2 possible explanations, God and evolution. Christians also don't do a good job of debating this issue because faith overcomes logic in many of these discussions. This coupled with the fact that Christians PUSH their beliefs on non-Christians actually pushes people away from believing in God.

I always use this kind of an example... If I believed that the world was created by a pink and green chair, and this chair is who I worship, and I got 1 million others to believe in the same thing, and someone writes a book about it, and no one has ever seen this chair but it supposedly has a child with a stool, and people say thanks to that chair and offspring everytime something good happens would you think they were crazy or would you believe in the same thing? Technically this is all Christianity is, and people have "faith" in their beliefs, but people could have faith in anything to the same degree you do in God. But you think they are wrong... this is how easy it is to say you are wrong.

There is a big difference between agnosticism, aetheism, and non-Christianity. The majority of religious people in the world don't believe in the Christian idea of God, but they still believe in a God, several Gods, spirits, etc. Agnoticism is believing that there may or may not be a God, but not the belief in God is not enough to warrant joining a religion. Aetheism is being convinced that there is no God.

However, I think that what you were trying to say was, "If you do not believe that God exists, why not?" My answer to this question: I have no reason to believe. The only evidence of God is a book, the Bible. I have know way of confirming whether or not it's true, so it's not a reliable source. The way I like to think about it is me asking you about the tooth fairy. How do we know that God exists, but the tooth fairy and Santa don't. We have no proof that any exist and no proof that they don't exist. Therefore, I have no reason to think of God being real unless the tooth fairy is proven real.

The main problems I have with the christian version is the history of the church. All the wars fought over the ages in the name of Christ. Pedophile priests being protected by the church. If the God you speak of is so mighty, why are there Dalmers and Bundys? Why would Israel have to go to war over a Holy land? If the suffering of innocent children is part of His great plan, I want nothing to do with him. I attempt to treat everyone with the same amount of respect that I expect. If I can help someone, I do. If I was born in a jungle and my parents told me a tree was God, does that make it so? Why are dinosaurs not mentioned in the Bible? Evolution can be proved, faith cannot. Why are all the christians backing the death penalty, doesn't the Bible say" vengeance is mine"? Sorry but I find the Bible way too hypocritical and if man is made in his image, he must be a pretty colorful guy. If you want to believe, good for you, I don't condemn
you, don't condemn me.

The short answer is because there are none around and no evidence of any. If you look into the history of all religions, you find they all had very human starts. All of the books are written by people and all of the "miracles" are hearsay with little or no evidence to back them up. In addition, as we learn more about the world around us the more we understand that things have natural causes. Things that people used to think were done by gods turned out to not need gods for their explanation. And finally, there are some very good psychological reasons why people would believe in gods that aren't there. Humans have characteristics that make them tend to believe things in the absence of real evidence. We have been emotional creatures far longer than reasoning ones.

Don't be an idiot, there are other religions than Christianity that believe in God. I am an atheist, and I remain so because I feel no connection to a higher power as promised to me in a every religion. If I cannot feel the presence of god, he cannot exist to me. There are also fantastic arguments against the existence of a god, and only weak ones supporting the god theory. You believe a theory, nothing more.

Im a non christian and I dont believe that God, if he loved us so much, that he would let us go to hell. I think he makes us do our lives over until we get it right, and thats why some people have rememberances of another life. Some people get it right the first time, other need more than once.

Just because someone isn't Christian doesn't mean they don't believe in god. There are billions of people that believe in god and aren't Christian.

I personally have no reason to believe in such a being, only reasons not to. For example, all of the evil in the world.

There is no logical proof. There is much evidence against it. God is the English Christian deity. Do you think Allah, Brahma, Zeus, Jove, Odin, Amon, Tien Ti, etc. exist? I doubt it. Well, Yahweh or God is on the same level. The Bible is inaccurate scientifically and has many contadictions. Some people deny this, but they are blind to anything that questions their beliefs. My oldest sister is a horrible example of that. She has tantrums and insults me if I say anything that makes her doubt her infantile religion. I just sent in a series of letters to a local newspaper about "Bible (In)Accuracy". I don't have time to repeat all of that here, but take my word that there are many flaws in the Bible. Intelligent and educated people who are ruled by logic, not emotion, can see that God and the Bible are nonsense, like all other deities and religious writings.

Because there are no scientific proof of it, and because bibles and corans clearly lie about how human and earth was developed.

Let me answer in a different way: here in my home i have 2 real dragons. If you believe in them, your life will be happier and you`ll get to "paradise" after you die.

Now why dont you believe that, because this here is just how gods and religions sound and appear for intelligent people like for example atheists and scientists.

No fence but I wouldnt thrust my car for a person who believes in gods, fairytales or religions

I don't follow any religion but I do believe there is a God. Why do you think someone has to be christian to believe in God? More blood has been spilled in the name of "God" and "christianity" than for any other reason. Inquisition, what? Crusades, huh?

Silly christians.
