Would you rather both sides be swollen? Yes its ok. Unless it is an adverse side effect of the sedative that was used in which case you should go back to your dentist.

This is perfectly normal. I had all 4 of my wisdom teeth removed at once and both sides of my cheeks were incredible swolen. I looked like I had golf balls in my cheeks (literally). Different people react to the surgery differently, but most people I know got swollen cheeks just like I did when they had their wisdom teeth removed. The swelling will go down in around a week but in the meantime, there isn't really much you can do about the swelling. The only thing you can really do anything about is the pain - I'm sure your doctor gave you some pain meds. Just make sure that if you're a smoker, don't smoke any cigarettes (or anything else for that matter) until the sockets are completely healed. Smoking dries out the sockets (the holes where your wisdom teeth used to be) and that can be very painful. Also be sure to drink lots of water. It'll be over before you know it.. Good luck!
It also seems as if you are concerned that only one side of your face is swolen and not the other. This is normal as well. One side of my face stayed much more swolen than the other. It just depends on how each tooth was positioned and how difficult it was to remove. Don't worry!

I had my four wisdom teeth removed two days ago, as well, and the swelling on only one side of my face is extreme. I look half-chipmunk and half-human.
I figured, since I was awake and fully-functioning during the operation, that there was more swelling on one side of my face than the other because the oral surgeon had a tougher time getting that lower left tooth out (it came out in four pieces.)
I wouldn't worry about it. Swelling is normal and unavoidable.

Wow, that's crazy - 4 teeth in one session?? i had mine removed as well, but I had two removed from one side in one week, and the remaining two the other week. I think in both cases half my face was swollen for 2-4 days.
Afterwards, I had to wear braces for four high-school years. It was memorable because i remember my orthodontist had some hot female assistants working for him, doing my x-rays and other close-encounter procedures.

People react differently to wisdom teeth extractions. I for one had no problems when I had all 4 taken. I was back to normal the next day. On the other hand, I know of people that had been sick for a week. It doesn't hurt to ask your dentist or oral surgeon. It could be an infection.

My face was bruised and swollen for about a week after my wisdom teeth were removed. You should be fine. Just watch it and let your dentist know if there is anything weird, like pain, heat, or additional swelling.

Some swelling is normal. I had mine taken out and both sides were swollen for almost a week. If it should get worse or you have sudden extreme pain, go back to the dentist who pulled them. You could have a "dry-socket" and the doc will need to fix it.
Feel better!

Yes it is normal for half of your face to be swollen. The same thing happened to me when my wisdom teeth were pulled. It probably that one side of your face was more sensitive than the other.

It is normal because sometimes they have to work alittle harder on one side to get the teeth out because of there postion and if they are impacted and around the bone. If it a couple more days and it should go down. Put some ice on it to help it.

This is completely normal, so don't worry about it. All that it means is the one side of your face had a little more trauma when the teeth were removed, so your face reacted to it with more swelling.
