Winter (Nov to Feb) too freaking cold.

Spring (Mar to May) the best time of the year, but too many tourist.

Summer (June to August) too freaking hot; an SPF 50 wont help.

Fall (September and october) great time to visit.. not too cold and not too hot either.

But Beijing gets kind of colder by mid october. Summer burns ur skin.. too hot a city to visit in the summer...

Beijing has some pretty bad sandstorms in the spring.
I would not want to go there in the winter from November to March because I think it is cold and not so pretty.
Avoid going there the first week of May and the first week of October as it is when the Chinese take their holidays and Beijing will be especially crowded.
I guess I think Fall would be the best time for travel to Beijing. The Great Wall looks very beautiful with the fall colors as well.

It is pretty much the same as here (at least Northern part of China). All the people that I know in Beijing tell me that I need to go there in the fall, as it has the best weather. Spring there is too much sand, Summer is too hot (Average day 35C) and Winter is not all that nice.
I enjoyed it while I was there in May, but there was some sand still around, and it was getting hot.
I also lived in Tianjin during the fall, and it was very pleasent.

I think you'd better go during spring.

Winter in Beijing is pretty cold. During summer, there are too many tourists. t will be too crowd for you to visit. In fall, the plants are dropping the parks are not beautiful.

So, i suggest you go during summer. The weather and plants are both nice.

If you want to know the month, i think March, April, and may are good. But don't go during Chinese Labor Day Week in May(May 1st-May 7th). There will also be a lot of tourists.

I hope you will enjoy your Beijing trip.
Spend some time visit Shanghai. it's a very good city, too. i lived there for several years.

Fall is best, but the first week of October can be quite busy and expensive. It is a national holiday, and there are 1.3 billion Chinese. When about 1/10 of them travel, it can be a daunting experience. By the first week in November it can be quite cold. I'd say from about October 10 to November 5 would be pleasant.

the fall is perfect for beijing. late september/early october...the weather is perfect! spring is horrible b/c of the sand storms, winter is bitterly cold, and summer is way too hot.

The Forbidden city, The Temple of Heaven, the summer Palace, the Silk marketplace, the super Wall. this is an fairly super city with lots of historic places, make an effort and don't rush from one place to a distinctive.
