No, some motherboards come with intergrated sound cards others you have to buy one and install. Just depends on the type of motherboard being used.

If you would like to learn more about intergrated sound cards and one's you have to buy separately I would suggest you visit this website: http://www.pcworld.idg.com.au/index.php/id;1546134872

Hope this helped.

most modern motherboards comes with a inbuilt sound chipset but necessarily not a sound card . the basic difference that lies between both is that sound card is a better device with loads of functions and other goodies like dolby and surround feature and fits into a pci slot on ur mother board but a sound chipset is a basic version of the sound card which is fixed on the board as a chip.
although the chipset of big companies can also have the extra features but its only matter of pricing and convinience that comes attached with chipsets .
chipsets also free ups the costly cabinet space that can be hogged when you install a soundcard in your pci slot apart from the extra expenditure .

no.

look on the back & see if you have a sound out jack (like for headphones).

most modern boards have one, but most earlier boards didn't.
