IT is always a question as to wheather or not antibiotics are going to work at all, since frequently you are dealing with a virus. When the virus turns into a secondary bacterial infection, that is when antibiotics will help. It is common practice to put kittens presenting with a URI on antibiotics.
Usually there is improvement within 3-5 days on the antibiotic. IF you get to the 4th day and there is NO improvement, a switch in antibiotics may be necessary.
If the kitten is at least drinking, she should be OK. The biggest complication of the URI is dehydration. If you can prevent that, she should be fine.
Sometimes the baby food chicken in a jar is very good to get them to eat something. IT also has a lot of water in it, so there is more fluids she will be getting.
If there is too much trouble breathing, you can take her into the bathroom and run the shower on it's hottest setting for the steam. Frequently that will help open the nasal passages and allow better breathing.

Good luck!! I am sure she will have a full recovery!!!

It will take some time. Virus's have to run their course which is usually 7-10 days. You can however call your vet back and see if they recommend some baby sinus spray, or ther medications. The reason she is not eating solids is because cats eat by smell and she can't smell right now. Buy her some stinky canned food. Too much tuna is not good for her. Also take her temperature if you can. If she is running over 102.5 then you need to take her back to the vet. A cold is one thing to have for a while but a temperature is not good.

That kitten needs to be bottle fed KMR, and also antibiotics from the vet. it is going to favor around the clock feeding - about each and every 3 hours. Shelters will basically placed it to sleep, as they don't have the aspects to bottle feed around the clock, and a ill kitten in a protect will basically get sicker nevertheless. A kitten it is congested like which will choose respiratory over ingesting. If the proprietors received't safeguard it, and also you are able to't have adequate money to, then the kindest element should be to take it to the protect to be euthanized, as without the vet visit and bottle feeding, the kitten's going to die. Sounds harsh, yet it is the fact. Are there different kittens contained in the muddle? they're going to get ill, too.

It can take a few days in order to kitty to feel better but if she isn't really interested in eating that could be bad. She could have pneumonia and need some nebulization treatments to loosen the congestion. I would contact your vet again

Cats are tempted to eat by smell so if her nose is stuffed up, she won't be able to. You can help clear her nose by purchasing a normal saline nasal spray from the pharmacy and using a drop or two in her nose to help clear it.
