i am 23weeks preggers and for the last couple of months my boyfriend's brother's cat (we all live 2gether) has been peeing in our bed but he doesn't do this anywhere else(cept the litter box) he has been neutered and we don't have anymore pets other than him any thoughts on why he does this or how to stop him?

You first need to have him checked out to be sure the doesn't have a urinary tract/and/or a bladder infection. If he doesn't then you know it's behavioural. Always check for health problems first. If he continues to do it then yes it's either because you are pregnant, or because he simply doesn't like you, or he likes you a lot and is staking out his territory. The only thing you can really do is keep your door closed. This behaviour in cats is one of the biggest problems I've encountered in the 25 years I've been a vet tech. Behaviourists, vets, etc.. all have these great ideas to stop the behaviour but 90% of the time they don't work. Just keep the door closed. But please have your roomate take him to the vet to be sure he is not ill. Cats will void outside the box when they are ill.

Have all of you lived together for very long? Did this start after you'd been there a while or did it start when you moved in? I'm asking because when my sister got married her cat was jealous of her husband sleeping in the bed with her. That had been the cats place. So the cat would climb up on the headboard and hang out over my sisters husband and gag, trying to throw up on him. You may have a jealous cat on your hands. I would say keeping the door closed is probably your best option.

You being pregnant has nothing to do with the cat urinating in your bed. Take the cat to the vet. He might had a urinary tract infection and the litter might be irritating to his penis.

Good luck

Not to sound gross but our bodies have a natural scent if you know what I mean and if a cat smells "anything"it will urinate there.The only way unfortunately,is to get a new mattress.Once they mark there territory,and you mark,and then they mark ,well it gets ugly.Congrats on the baby!!!What an exciting time in your life{smiles}

I would guess that is what's going on. Your scent has changed and he doesn't like it, so he is trying to make things smell better (animals are weird that way). Keep the door closed.

God is making the cat do this as you are "preggars" and not married to the scum. Cat may smother the baby to death after it is born. Spawn of scum.
