Cat litter, i have bought the biggest tray I could find yet....?

Question

I still have to sweep the floor two/three times a day to get rid of all the litter on the floor. Shes a really good kitty otherwise, has heaps of stimulation but sometimes she just gets in and acts as if she has gone the toilet even if she hasnt. Hence a floor full of litter. HELP, it really hurts if u step on it in ur bare feet lol

have you seen those cat littler boxes with lids on them. (of course there is a door they can get in and out of). Check Wal-mart, i know they have them.

We have the same problem. You could put a rubber mat under your litter box. That will help keep the litter off of your floor. (You could wear slippers.) Cats are sometimes messy with the litter. Keep sweeping and Good Luck

Depending on how far she slings it you could spread newspapers under and around the litter box. Roll up the papers with the litter in it and toss in the trash and put fresh papers down. I'm with the others on the litter box with a lid, but if you're on a budget and have to wait on that for a while, I'd try the newspapers.

Try a cat box that has a lid. They have some now that the cats have to enter them from the top so the sides are completely covered.

Get a litter box that has a top on it (like an incloser) or high walls.

a rubber mat or old carpet/towel works really well, its harder for her to track the tiny crystals around that way, and easier to clean up when needed
