Bodies float on water because they are less dense than the water--because there is still air in the body cavity. However, when water fills the body cavity it becomes heavier and denser than the surrounding water and then sinks.

Why Do People Float

People sink because they can not swim and there body is vertical, if people had there bodies horizontal and just stayed still, only 80-90% of them would be under water. We can float because we have lots of water in our bodies and in water our bodies become less dense than the water we are swimming in.

Humans float because of all the oxygen that they have in their bodies. There is the oxygen in our lungs, but all of our red blood cells usually have 4 oxygen molecules attached as well. The main reason is that the more fat content a person has, the more buoyant they will be. Have you ever dropped oil in water? It floats doesn't it? Have a good day.

The right to clean water is about people not having to walk several miles to a muddy stream or spring to get water which is so polluted it is likely to cause serious illness. It is nothing whatsoever to do with having bottled water in class. Your school has the right to make and apply whatever rules it considers necessary to maintain discipline and ensure good standards of education. If you don't like the rules, that's just tough - but when you went to the school your parents agreed that you, and they, would abide by the rules that had been set. Your parents accepted the school rules on your behalf, so you have no grounds to complain.

We only float on water when we are dead. Go Figure. Now we can float if we control it (when I'm in a swimming pool) I float on my back but I can control that so that I can float.
