I believe you can have faith and a belief in a higher power without buying into organized religion and bible fanatics. A lot of these so called caring and loving Christians are hateful and close minded. Just continue to believe what you feel is right for you, and talk to God.

In what way do you mean you are put off by unloving Christians? If you mean that your relationship with God and Christ is affected by unloving Christians then I would say that is sad, because lets say for example you were married to someone you really loved then that someone had a big argument with your next door neighbour and left you. Would you feel that would be fair?because that is in effect what you are saying that you are doing! The other thing is that not all Christians are unloving or Judging I think that is the thing too that you don't like the judging am I right?and of course we shouldn't Judge anybody only God has that right, the right to Judge people.you can though build your relationship with God through the Bible by pondering on the Bible and praying for understanding, then you will be listening to God, not Man but you have to remember that God does have the right to say if it is or is not right for people to be Gay, no people don't but God does!

If you love the words of Jesus, do you love the words of the whole Bible? It's not that gays are going to hell, it's if you don't believe in Jesus. It says in the Bible that men and women leaving the natural use of their bodies is a sin. There are many sins, and people who say they don't sin are liars. God sees all sins as sins. He doesn't say a thief is better than a liar. Murders can be forgiven. Adulterers can be forgiven. As Christians, we need to stop sinning. We need to put off the old things, and start living a different way, Gods way.

I am a christian and I do not hate gays. I do not hate anyone. I am not wise enough to know who will go where when they die. I think our lives are made up of much more than our sexual practices. It seems like there are a few passages in the Bible that are glorified and the rest are overlooked. Especially the ones that say we shouldn't judge or that we should love our neighbor. Well what if our neighbor is gay? What if they are a wiccan? What if they are Indian or Muslim or Jewish? Do we disregard the commandment? No one will come to Christ because they were bashed into it. He loves and forgives. He accepts and heals. That is the Christ I know. I am asking you to rise up to the highest law which is love. Just love. Peace.

Jesus of Nazareth had to put with the worst that it can even happen to any wise master and true leader: he got followers. Disciples tend to be holier than their masters. We Christians act as if Jesus is sitting at our feet basking under our wisdom. This is one the many ironies we encounter in our daily lives.
Thanks God there are questioners like you. To be more like God and less Christian we'd better focus on love as the all overarching command. Whenever a religious dogma, not matter how holy, sets itself above life and the dignity of the human being, then it must be discarded.

No one on the earth has the authority or power to say who is going to hell or not. We are not here to judge another person based on their beliefs and lifestyles. The only true judge, the ultimate judge is God. God knows the minds and hearts of all people and it will be up to Him to decide whether we go to Heaven or Hell. Continue to follow Jesus and His teachings and don't worry about what other people think or say or do. You cannot change anyone's thought patterns or actions. The only ones you can change are yours.

Good luck and may God Bless you now and forever!

If one claims to be saved and continues to walk in sin from the day they got saved then I do not think they are saved, but lets see what God says.1 John 1:6- If we say we have fellowship with him, and walk in darkness, we lie and do not the truth. 1 John 2:6- He that saith he abideth in him ought himself also to walk even as he walked. Now on to the big one, 1 John 2:15-17- love not the world neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him. Verse 16- For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world. Verse 17- And the world passeth away, and the lust thereof: but he that doeth the will of God abideth forever.

The Christians who are unloving need to read more of gods word. The ones who say gays are going to hell, it talks about this in the bible read it for yourself. I'm not saying that I'm all for Gay's but I'm not going to go around criticizing them either.

If you don't like what they are saying, either try to change their opinions or just ignore them. God loves ALL of His children, not just certain races, religions, sexual preferences, or nationalities. Too many people believe that to be true, and that's part of what the KKK is all about...racial and religious dominance. (anti-foreigners, anti-Judaism/Muslim/Buddhism/etc...) Anyone who says that someone is going to hell just because they have a different lifestyle does not really know the word of God. Pat Robertson is an example. He believed that the Israelis were going to hell because of what the Jews did to Christ. Doesn't God and Jesus forgive? I believe that your mission in life may be to persuade these "Christians" with whom you disagree to change their attitudes. Perhaps God planted these thoughts in your mind to tell you that he wants you to help these folks. The sheep have strayed from the flock and it may be your job to corral them back. Good luck!

GOD has spoken strongly and clearly against the behavior known as homosexuality. GOD considers homosexuality an abuse to sex similar to fornication, prostitution, molestation, and other types of sexual immorality.
so, GOD did create sexual feelings within us, but also HE put guidlines to their application. And if you can't understand why homosexuality is an abuse of sex and is a completely unacceptable behavior, ask GOD. HE will answer you back and make you understand. it might seem to you that homosexuals are just being in love and are acting upon that love, but don't be deceived by their slogans of love. Many "sick" attitudes were performed in the name of love. And trust me if GOD , who is so sensitive and who create within us the feelings of love, saw nothing wrong in homosexuality, he would not have opposed this behavior and HE would not have helped out those who felt that they had homosexual feelings.
Just one more thing: remeber that GOD with HIS own wisdom created humans and organized the relationship between them over time. So for instance, a father can not say that he has the right to have sex with his daughter because GOD is love! Not all forms of love are love. As GOD doesn't accept this aforementioned abuse, HE does not accept homosexuality. Believe me, if homosexuality was ok. GOD, the source of love and its creator, would have stated clearly that it is ok. BUT the fact is HE opposed it. Many people felt that they were at the edge of getting involved in homosexuality, but they calmed down and had a talk with GOD instead. And GOD showed them why it was a disaster to go into that direction and they became straight again so easily after GOD made it clear for them that homosexuality was not love and removed these mistaken "feelings".
GOD organized the relationship between men and women. If there is ever going to be marriage, it has to take place between a man and a woman. That's not tadition or custom, rather than what's right and natural. GOD wants mating to be women and men engulfed with love. HE also allowed birth to take place because of a marital relationship between man and woman and not between two men or two women. THIS is decided by HIS wisdom, HE created men and women in need for eachother, no matter how much some people would like to deny. So, if anyone felt otherwise and that there is this attraction to his own sex, he should not rush into it, rather talk to GOD. This actually happens
