Place aluminum pie plates on the counter for a couple of weeks. They are fairly lightweight, so they will move easily if the kitten jumps on or near them. The clanging sound will discourage the kitten from jumping up there.

Cats like to climb things and they can do it with no harm to themselves or to anyone in the house. They are still wild animals at heart and like to have a perspective on things so they can hunt better (not they don't hunt anymore, but the instinct is still there). Let the kitten jump on the cabinets, nothing's gonna happen!
Oh, and another thing I noticed about my cat. She likes to be where people are. So, maybe if you spend less time in the kitchen, she'll follow you around. She'll find something else to climb though, so be prepared...

My dogs became a domestic dog as quickly as I have been given her, so the cats have been extra desirable than she. She nonetheless thinks she's the comparable length as a cat (she's a 60+ pound retriever) and tries to sit down down on the sofa with the cats. The cats groom the proper of her head, and he or she tries to reciprocate, whether the cats do no longer like it too properly. If a dogs isn't raised around cats and vice versa, they'd no longer get alongside. yet whilst they advance used to a minimum of one yet another, they advance into rapid friends.

This only works if you're there when she does it, but keep a rolled up newspaper near by. When she jumps on the counter, whack the counter (not the cat). The noise will give her a fright and after a while she won't want to get on that scary counter. (-:

The best technique I have found has been to keep a water bottle handy. Spritz her when she goes out of bounds. I did this when my cat was a kitten ONCE (no lie), and she never repeated the banned behavior.

We have had similar problems. I have found that if you take alumin foil and crinkle it up and place it in different spots on the counter and other places you don't want them it will help. I don't know if cats don't like the noise it makes or the way it feels. I do know it works though. Good Luck!!!!!!

Put some ground red pepper on the area. One whiff and the cat will not go back!

Let her jump, what's the harm? It's a cat thing.

You can buy a scat mat at the pet store. Or you can use mouse or rat traps only put them in a sock so the cat doesn't get hurt, just scared. Once you scare the ****&*^* out of her once she won't do it again.

take card stock or some time of heavy paper (notebook paper won't work, its to light) and put rolled tape on it, sticky side up...place on the cabinets so she will have to step on them...cats hate things on their feet...
