While I have no idea about the metric system - I thought I had heard somewhere there were 3200 calories to a pound.
the link I have placed below suggests that there are 3500 calories to a pound. So, multiply by 2 - sounds like it would be 7000 calories to 1kg (2 pounds). Anyway, check the link below...has more info.

! Kilogram is 2.2 pounds. However, calories do not equate directly to pounds or kilograms. Calories are a measurement of heat energy. It depends on what food you are talking about. To determine how many calories a food has a weighed portion is burned in a calorimeter and the temperature difference of the surrounding water is measure to determine the calorie content of the food.A pint of water is a pound and it has no calories. A pnt of oil is less than a pound and it has many.

I read once that normally 7000 kilocalories equal 1 kilogram of body weight. And by the way, 2 pounds avoirdupoids are not the same as 1 kilogram.

It does not work that way. Calories tell you about the nutricional valuee, the energy in food. How many calories you need to eat to gain one kilo depends totally on the person, everybody

It depends on 2 pounds of what type of food
Different foods have different amounts of callories.
For example, 2 pounds of carrots would be a lot less than 2 pounds of pasta.
