It is not so much that I believe the myths but rather I believe in the myths.

Let me say that another way. Do I believe: That several thousand years ago Yahweh got all tick off at all people except Noah and his family. So he had Noah build a big floating zoo. It then rained for 40 days and nights and the whole earth was covered with water and everything was destroyed except Noah and his family?

No!

Do I believe that this story is important and if I study and meditate on it I can learn something about what it means to be human? Can I learn something about how humans view the divine?

Absolutely!

The story is not a fact but it contains truths. If I spend my time and energy trying to prove myths as fact then I miss everything the myth can teach me.

Hope this makes sense.

Blessed Be

Pabs

Well, they are only myths if you disagree with the story. If you agree with the story it is scripture, gospel, unchangeable. That's what makes christian watching so much fun. I can't wait to see which side they choose next.
