You were a criminal sentenced to death & a family member took your place to set your free. One life was exchanged for another. But Jesus exchanged one life (His own) so that many other lives could be spared (i.e. set free or saved). Where's the logic?

The reason criminals who kill are sentenced to death is threefold. Primarily, it is to prevent them from killing anyone else...
If a friend or relative is allowed to take the sentence (in this case, death!) in exchange for them, then the killer would theoretically go free with the potential to kill again. Logically, this is counterintuitive.
(By the way, the other two reasons are: revenge/punishment and deterrence...)

logic.
god gave man the ability to do as he pleases....(free will)
god gave instructions
man did not follow instructions
god sent Jesus to be an example....
man did not follow example
god took Jesus back
many still don't get it.......
in simplest terms follow Jesus give of yourself ask nothing in return, love all ways even when there is hate enjoy the life that comes with walking with god.

Thats "story" is just a story. Jesus was sent by God as a messenger to bring people Word of God.
This was his mission. Nothing else. He did nt die on the cross for the mankind, there is no sense of God to make his prophet die.. This is what I strongly beleive being a muslim.

You question is vague. Jesus didn't die for my sins, I wasn't alive 2000 plus years ago, and more importantly, my errors are mine to deal with, I don't expect anyone else to pay for my mistakes.
That whole idea is so screwed, kind of like your question, if it is a question.

Jesus died for us because we can't save ourselves.
Also, we can't approach God. Jesus is the bridge between God and man.
