How do you mean? To justify our presence in the same way we justify being in Korea, Japan, Germany, Italy, Spain, Afghanistan, Bosnia/Herzegovina, Croatia, Greece, Greenland, Hungry, Iceland, Netherlands, Norway, Portugal, Turkey, etc., etc., etc.,
Well, just buy an almanac and look under U.S. Military Strengths, World Wide. Where are you people from? Ignorance is not a virtue!! You know, out of every hundred people on the planet, about four can walk out to their driveway, jump into their car, drive to MickeyD's and be able buy a bagel egg and cheese and three of them live in the United States. That sort of opulence has a price!

I am An American Veteran, Yes! They had years to comply with U.N. Sanctions and more time to move their weaponry to Syria. the planes we found buried in the desert were just proof that they have great ability to hide weapons. the recent discovery of vx and sarin gas may have been a small cache, but they had it.killing 300,000 of your own people is another good reason to be there. for the last 50 years we have been questioned on why we didn't join the war to stop Hitler, this time we didn't wait to free 26 million people from a dictator who stole children's food money to build lavish castles. Why are we there? life and liberty are endowed by our creator. and that's not just for the United States, It's for the slaves of any dictator, anywhere. God bless the troops.

The intelligence of too many countries (not just the U.S.) reported that Saddam had WMDs. We know he had and used them - did you not see the thousands of Kurds gassed on the mountainside? Did you not see the mass graves? He was supposed to have provided proof that he destroyed the remainder. He did not. He disallowed inspections for 4 years. What do you think he was doing for 4 years? I expect that someday these WMDs will be found in a tunnel someplace. We had better hope we find them first. Think.

We need a good base of operations in the middle east with a seaport so we can make it rain on Syria & Iran. To Stabilize the region.

Carters first mistake was letting the terrorists kick us out of the Iranian embassy.

Yes, the middle east is the world's hot spot. Having a large contingent of troops and equipment there, will more than likely save the US time and transportation costs when needed for it's next mission, whatever and wherever that is.

I am an American veteran, very loyal to my country, but the answer to your question is NO! The day we went to Iraq I thought it was crazy. We started fighting in the wrong place.

What Iraq had to do with extremists and terrorists I have no idea!

no, it's time to get out of there, most of the people that were responsible for senseless killing are caught or dead. the only small reason they could have to be there is right now they are still vulnerable to being taken over.......... as i was typing that the thought that the US is taking over iraq popped into my head.......hmmmm that gave me something to think about

Yep, were fighting terrorism before someone hijacks any more planes and flies them into any more buildings. Why should we just sit over here while they train more of them, and grow to an even larger force.
