There is no reason to get irritated. You should check with your boy friend before making calls. If one calls too frequently, it can get distracting. Similarly if you have long conversations on topics which can wait.

The office offers no privacy and others may be hearing what your boyfriend is saying. May be he prefers to keep his private life private. May be the office has policy of discouraging personal calls.

There is no right and wrong answers here. It is a certain situation, a certain dynamic that your boyfriend is trying to manage. Ask him and may be he will explain it to you.

If it's an occasional call, it's likely no big deal, however work is work, and people are paid to do their job and remain focused at the office. Anything other than a work related call can become a distraction, taking away from his time which the employer is paying for, which can be frowned on by his employer. I would make every attempt to limit the calls to his workplace. Carefully weigh if the needs you have in speaking to him would be considered an emergency. And by all means if it is an emergency, don't hesitate in calling.

Some times, yes. The guy has to attend office work, and at times, a girls call involving personal questions might drag his mind out of office work. This is bad, and it does irritate at times. Dont take him for granted - he need his space as well.

My fiance and I both work and didn't want calls at work. The easiest way around it was to have a daily lunchtime phone call, we're able to be free at the same time for lunch so we have had a quick (5 -10min) phone call every day for 3 years the first call was the day after our first date. It works well for us and if theres something that cant wait we feel free to call because we dont take calls while were working

Most businesses have a policy that limits personal phone calls. This is with good reason. Unless there is something extremely important let him call you when he has a free moment. When you call you have no way of knowing who is with him like the boss. The boss may not like the interruption, which in turn will make unpleasant moments between you and your boyfriend.

it depends on his official temptations. But in any case, rather than getting irritated, he should explain the case to make his better half understand his circumstances. Or else, it will end with breaking the relationship.

He's paid to work and not sit around chit chatting with her on the phone. Chronic calls from her are nothing of importance.
