I think it's unfair to make a 10 year lose weight by diet. Just get him to play more football & have a sensible diet should do it.

Why does your 10 year old need to loose 10 lbs.?
Stop with the junk food, turn off your television, stop with the computer games. Get him outside to enjoy mother nature, this will also help you! Kids at 10 should not need diets! Get him off his behind, he's a kid, he should be running around and exploring things in the great outdoors with his friends. This is not hard! It may cause you to change your lifestyle also which will help your general health.

Your son shouldn't be on a diet to begin with.If he needs to lose contact his dr or pediatrican .Or try a nutrionist.I would not put him on any diet he's a growing boy.make sure he eats alot of fruits and veggies slacking off the junk food and not alot of carbs but like i said get advice first though.

no soda, cut back on meats, no junk, and keep an eye on calories. Make sure he's getting a variety, just like the traditional food pyramid. Is football really worth it anyways?
stay away from drugs, shakes, laxatives, and anorexia, they'll all destroy him in the long run.

When does he need to lose it by? If its a month or so i would do weight watchers.Or keep junk food away and exercise more.

Season hasn't started yet.
He could easily loose that before it starts just by going to all the practices.

no snacks, no fast food. chicken is good, so is fish and egg white. Get whole wheat products and make sandwiches. have him drink a lot of water
