Relationships are ideally two-way streets. Each gives and each gets. Each cares about the other and gives consideration, comfort, protection, and makes efforts to please the other. If those conditions aren't present or you aren't comfortable with the others behavior, that should be a red flag. (Many folks asking questions here seem to feel they need to be in relationships where one person gives and the other takes with no or little two-way connection. Everybody has needs and if those aren't met in the relationship the chances are very high it will turn out to be not good.)
Very good question.

A decline in calls - he used to call alllll the time, cuts back to once a day, once a week.

Too busy to see you - sorry, but I made plans to go fishing with the guys.

Lack of physical affection - I don't mean sex, but the small things like holding your hand when you're out in public, sitting beside you in restaurants, kisses for no reason, hugs disappear. He may still have sex with you - in fact, more than ever, but that's all it is, just sex.

Lack of communication - you talk, he either watches tv & won't look at you while you're speaking or worse, just grunts a reply.

Yeah, I'd say that sums up a relationship on the rocks.

Anything that makes you say in your head "red flag!"

Doesn't answer their phone when they go out, but always does any other time.

Walks away from you when the phone rings... sometimes is okay, but body language is important.

Heavy drinking.

Bad temper or occassionally "snaps." If they occassionally snap, that means they are probably trying to hold in violence or anger.

Can't keep a job. If they can't commit to earning money to live, how can they commit to anything?

He does not call you the way that he use to.
Sex is not his top priority with you anymore.
He avoids spending time with you.
He stays out all night without calling you and telling you where he is.
He accuses you of cheating on HIM.
He can't look you in the eyes when he is talking to you.
He'd rather spend time with his "boys", rather than with you.
He disrespects you, call you names, put you down.
He could care less when you are crying over him.
You just have a gut feeling that he is cheating on you.
His cell phone rings all of the time, and he looks at it, then doesn't answer.
He complains about you "nagging or arguing", all the time
He looks at you in disgust
He doesn't care about you going out and staying all night

The list goes on and on, but this is what I've experienced. I hope that this helps.

I would think when your mate comes home smelling of a different perfume, makes excuses to be late, doesn't want to go out with you, gets phone calls from other guys or gals and is secretive about them, you find phone numbers that you don't know who they belong to, does not pay you attention anymore, or as much attention, and you just feel things aren't right.
