Love does not need a reason to happen. As a matter of fact, the love you will feel in the beginning stages of a relationship with be largely without reason. We even have physiological changes during this stage of love. However, I will caution you, that this stage does pass, and that after that, you had better have some good reasons to love that person. Once the fireworks fade, you need to know that you are with a responsible, stable, supportive individual that you enjoy spending time with, and that you are sexually attracted to. That part is very important because otherwise your relationship turns into simple friendship, and it is hard to sustain romantically.

No, I don't think so.
People always think love is about exploding but most of them doesn't understand that love is sometimes about calm water. I have two different men in my life.
One is the person i love and the other is the person i wanna be with. Now, i'm being happy with the second one because i start to do stupid things when with the man i love (that's the exploding part you've mentioned).
What i mean is, love can be compromised, you need the reason to stay in the name of love or to leave (also) in the name of love.

Love doesn't need a reason, just be sure you're not falling in love for the wrong reason. For example, if the person you're falling for shows signs of selfishness, or disrespects you, or verbally abuses you...you may stay in such a relationship subconsciously believing you deserve to be punished. And that would be a WRONG reason. While falling in love doesn't require a reason, just be sure it's not for the wrong reason. Make sense?

I highly disagree!
of course it needs a reason!
how can you have a soulmate if all you know is that you love him..but you can't talk with him, laugh with him, discuss things with him, understand and respect him?
Love needs a reason-- or rather reasons. Love is there because you love a peson for the qualities he has. Love emerges because of a reason- that reason being that this person has qualities you like immensely and that this person is someone you treasure.

Yes, i totally agree that love doesn't need a reason. How do you explain couples like a 35yr old man and his 103yr old wife (real Malay couple in Malaysia)? Or the young, handsome doctor who insisted on marrying the 72 yr old grandmother in Singapore despite her children's protests?

I think it does need a reason. People should consider all the circumstances before hooking up otherwise it's gonna break up real soon. People should be more realistic.
