A thorough study of the prophecies of Daniel and Revelation shows that the Anti-Christ power is the Roman Catholic Church. Anti-Christ means in place of Christ, not necessarily against Christ. The Roman Catholic Church has tried to replace Christ since the beginning. The whole mass system tries to replace Christ's High Priestly ministry. That is why Catholics confess to a priest not directly to God. The priest is replacing Christ.
The Catholic Church was growing into power in Paul's day. That is why Paul states that "the mystery of iniquity doth already work" 2Th 2:7. The system that was holding back the Papacy was the Roman Caesars which were taken out of the way when Rome fell in the 5th century. This allowed the rise of the Papacy and the great falling away that Paul was talking about. The Church of Rome ruled Europe for 1260 years from 538-1798 when the Pope was taken captive by Napoleon. The Pope died in captivity. This is the deadly wound that Revelation 13 speaks about. However, Revelation goes on to say that the deadly wound was healed. This happened in 1929 when Mussolini gave the Roman Catholic church back the Vatican and the church has been growing into power ever since. Witness the outpouring of world acclaim at the funeral of Pope John Paul ll.
Beast in Bible prophecy always identify a kingdom or a power not an individual (Daniel 7:23)
The theory that the Anti-Christ will be a person who stands up in the last day is fiction (See Left Behind Series). The only thing left behind is Biblical Truth. Please do some research.

Nope. Scripture is clear: The antichrist will be of pure-blooded Roman descent. But there is another argument...
"Some believe that the Antichrist will be of Jewish descent, basing their claims on Daniel 11:37. This verse says "Neither shall he regard the God of his fathers, nor the desire of women, nor regard any god: for he shall magnify himself above all" [2], (this may also indicate that the Antichrist will be a homosexual [3]). Additionally, some believe, because of John 5:43, that the Antichrist may be accepted as Israel's and modern Jews' Messiah, and even set himself in a possibly rebuilt Third Temple in Jerusalem."
I personally do not believe that the antichrist will be jewish.

The Anti-Christ is here now. Look around you. War, AIDS, hatred, poverty - this is the way this dark entity works. Magick is a slow energy, but it can be very destructive. And this isn't just my personal opinion - this is how it works. The world won't just blow up in a day, the AC is working things into our minds that are going to make us destroy each other and ourselves.
