This definitely sounds like the effects of sniffing type drugs. You need to get to the bottom of it - don't let him have privacy in his own room if he is going to do drugs on the property you own and under your roof. He needs to be seen by a doctor and before he has a chance to rid his system of the chemicals!!! Take him in ASAP if you have to call social services for help. But don't let this problem destroy his life and yours by sitting back and hoping it will all go away because it won't. That's how my poor brother died. The people in his life were in denial thinking he was in a phase he'd grow out of or just a teenager doing normal teenager things. No one took his sniffing nitrous oxide seriously or did anything to help and unfortunately I had no clue what was happening being off in college when it all happened - until I was told he "passed away in his sleep." I got the truth from the coroner and my step sister. He got so hung up on the high that he tried using a plastic bag to maximize the results and passed out. His lungs exploded - he was in his very own bedroom under mother's roof when it happened. What a tragedy! Don't let this happen to you. Please don't be in denial - you'll regret it. Get to the bottom of it - the sooner the better. I hope it's not - but if it is then at least you'll know that you did everything possible. It's one of the worst feelings in the world to find your son dead in his own room from something that you could have intervened on. Just ask my mom.

Yeah - could be a cold.
Meth would also probably be having skin issues - rashy or open sore looking things.
Coke might lead to bleeding of the nose, too.
Weight depends on how long he has been using.
You can buy over the counter drug tests now at pharmacies. I'd check if you think it is a possiblity he has been using.
First, have you talked to him? I mean, maybe he is, like, depressed and crying a lot or just having allergies or something. Hard to say without a history. I'd just be careful about jumping all over him about drugs if there is no other proof than kleenex.

Sounds like he's snorting coke and I don't mean the soda either.
Running nose, always sniffing or blowing, weight loss and personality changes suggests drugs of some sort. Runny nose says he's ingesting the drug by inhaling it through his nose, "snorting".
If you really want to know, take him to the doc and have him drug tested. It's the only way to be 100% sure.
Not saying it will happen, but don't be surprised, if the test should come back positive, that the doc informs the police and or family services and they do an investigation. I do believe it's required by law that they report it.

I'm thinking the tissue is in his room because he's just checking that his tool is fully functional. Sorry if you feel offended but I'm 32 and often have had this conversation with my friends. It's very normal behaviour for a teenager. The mood swings certainly point towards drug use, my mother told me she knew was on something when was 15-18 mainly because of my mood's.
Try and speak to him without accusing , that probably make him defensive.
i could be wrong but I'm only going on my own memories of the way i was at that age.
I hope everything works out OK .

The tissues are probably for his runny nose, maybe he has hayfever. His mood swings might just be a hormonal side effect on account of being 15. Having tried cannabis doesn't always lead to harder drugs, it didn't with me, unless you count alcohol. You need more hard evidence before you can reach a drug related conclusion.
