Probably just hungry, not thinking much at all except how to fill the belly. Also must have been used to watching other mammals and humans breastfeeding so seemed natural. Maybe the cow had lost her calf and was crying in pain cos of the milk, so they did it as an act of mercy and realised it was yummy!!

I'm not sure that someone actually squeezed the udder. I think what happened is it was the hefer who was seen suckling on the udder and someone actaully said Oh wow she is getting milk and she has such a BIG udder lets see if WE can drink it as well. I don't know but it makes more sense this way.

I think that ancient man observed other mammals and decided to domesticate the cows. Humans breast feed naturally.

I assume **** means milk, and remember, they got their first taste of milk from their mothers. On this subject, last night on Ripley's Believe Or Not, they showed a cow with a second utter on her back.
