So glad to have a witch here!!!! Welcome honey! Don't mind limited humans - they just cant grasp what is ur world. Evil witches are evil because they honor evil more than good and people actually have no idea which witch is good or bad. That 's why they are afraid of u. I think that men of this planet just never seemed to realize that women have something more in their brains then them , and that is a very good reason to prosecute and hunt and burn and whatever in the name of fear and misunderstanding.
DON'T GIVE UP EVER OF BEING WHO U R! THERE ARE MILLIONS WHO WILL SUPPORT U!
ENJOY UR LIFE!

Oh boy... Here we go again with someone who doesn't even understand the differences between Wiccans and witches, and yet claims to be both.
Not all Wiccans are witches, and not all witches are Wiccan.
Wiccans don't necissarily do spells or practice magic. It's a nature-based religion and the Divine is understood in the form of a God and Goddess. People are supposed to pray and do rituals to them and revere the Earth, but no one ever said you had to do spells. Rituals and spells are two entirely different things.
But ALL self-proclaimed witches DO practice witchcraft. That's why it's called WITCHcraft. They don't need any belief in a God, they use the energy within and around them to change things about their lives or the lives of others. Aka, they perform spells.
You're saying you're a witch but don't do spells? Of course you do. If you didn't than you wouldn't be calling yourself a witch. Get it straight.
Why why WHY are there so many teeny-bopper fluffy bunny Wiccans in the world today? It really needs to stop. >.<
I myself was Wiccan.... For a year or so. Then I got over it and realized how stupid the vast majority of Wiccans are. I wouldn't say that unless it was mostly just little teenagers who think it's cool. And it is... And now I honestly can't take the 'religion'(that was, in fact, created in the 50's by a gross perverted old man) seriously, when it's run by trend-whore little kids.

This is my opinion but, I think you should not bring those books to school unless you are prepared for ridiculing. It's not much different when a Christian brings a Bible to school, they can get an earful. When people feel threatened by things they do not understand they lash out. I do not know much about Wiccans but I would imagine just as with any other group, there are the few that give the group a bad name. I am Christian; there are some "Christians" that give Christianity a bad name and because of the few bad examples some how all Christians get lumped into the same ball of wax. People tend to remember the "bad"... I once read and think it's true that for 1 'wrong' you must compensate with 10 'rights' before someone will forget the bad experience. Good luck.

Because the crushing majority of witches do perform curses and spells. Witchcraft caused more evil and suffering rather than good throughout history. I'm not saying that I support killing witches like in Salem long ago, but to find a normal, peaceful way to stop it. Magic can cause nothing by itself, but if GOD wants it to do something, it will. Besides magic depends on tricks, to dazzle people into thinking it really does something, for instance you can't change a table into a book! That's impossible. Dealing with herbs to cure diseases and to enjoy their taste is the only real usage for these herbs. But wasting them for "spells" and depriving many people who might really need them for something urgent is so wrong!

Unfortunately that is what they have been conditioned to think due to Hollywood and the church. Until someone makes a TV show that really shows what Wicca and Wiccans are all about (and makes it entertaining enough for people to watch) we will continue to get this treatment. Granted people could read a book like "The Truth About Witchcraft Today" by Scott Cunningham but how many people actually crack open a book these days.

People are just a product of that they have learned from parents, religions, elders, and teachers etc.
So most of the people you are meeting have the image of 'witch' as being the same with the witch in the Wizard of Oz, or else some kind of malevolent woman, etc.
Probably the best thing you can do is be proud of what you are, and let them know they felt OK when they knew you BEFORE you told them you were a witch.. so they should be the same after. Also, you can break their false image and stereotypes of what it means to be a witch.. good luck!

People think of these things because they are the stereotype presented to the world, in countless forms, for centuries. People "freak out" about things they don't understand. You have an excellent opportunity to educate others about the reality of your beliefs and change that stereotype. I'm not sure why you are getting into trouble if you aren't attending a religious based school. Keep your cool and be respectful of others beliefs while defending your own. And remind your teachers and school administrators that freedom of religion means freedom for all religions. blessed be.

Talk to other witches and I am sure they will tell you the same thing. It is just not an accepted religion or practice in American or most other societies at this time. Like being gay, it takes time for people to get use to things that are different from their perceived normal life. What ever that may be.

Wiccans still get a bad rap from the inquisition and the salem witch trials etc. Plus it doesn't help with the catholic church condemning witches as satanists. "Thou shalt not suffer a witch to live" and all that.
It's a cool religion though, once people get educated, they don't seem to mind so much. All that bigotry etc stems from ignorance (as it usually does)

because people don't understand wiccan very well.. and think thats all it is witch craft and don't see the other parts of it as well..
i'm not to sure of it myself.. i know that witchery is a small part of it..but with it goes.. being kind to ones environment.. respecting nature as one should..
i don't think any wiccans have started any wars or anything.. perhaps the world would be a better place if we respected nature and living things as the wiccans do

Fear of the unknown and it has been passed down since the begining of time. We have more information available to use at this time in history. As far as spells go, you are trying to impose your will on someone else. Your opinion is great for you and satisfy your interest if it makes you happy. What others say and act out in regards to you is none of your business, it's all about you
