And then the same people who follow a religion start crying about a war that is going on. Don't they understand that their religion is playing a huge part in why the conflict is happening? Duh. I guess that's how dumb people are when their brainwashed by the biggest lie in history.

I couldn't be bother to continue on all the bad sides to religions. So I'll stop there and read all the pathetic answers that are going to roll in.

Correction, SOME religious people start wars in the name of their God. But not all wars have been about religion as a matter of fact the only thing that can be blamed on every single war is the fact that we are all different with different views of how things should be.... so does that mean we should all become carbon copies of one another? No.

I can't really think of a religion that says, "Go out and kill everyone else". So you shouldn't blame violence on religion blame it on the fact that violence is still a part of human nature that we can't seem to evolve out of.

Religion does not "just create war and separate people"

While no doubt there have been a few wars that have had religion involved, most wars fought on this planet have had nothing to do with religion but have been about the acquisition of land.

Also, many religions have formed a tremendous number of outreach and charity programs: hospitals, housing, fresh food and clean water, clothing, etc. These things bring people together.

I tire of people who say "Religion causes war" when they don't realize how rare that really is. Even the attacks going on now between Israel and Lebanon are not religious-based.

If you want to blame something don't cast the blame on religion. Ha that's ludicrous. People are to blame. Hypothetically if you grew up in a religious household, and this fictional religion believed it was necessary to kill people in the name of your God would you do it? We all have choice. I am christian but if one day at church the pastor says "Today we're going to kill us some atheists" I would be out of there in no time. (calling the police I'm sure) As far as being brainwashed by the biggest lie in history.......Well honestly what business is it of yours? What if I worship a pink and purple teapot that I believe circles in outer space? Does my ignorance bother you so much that you have to come on yahoo answers and rant about how dumb my teapot is? Please try to practice tolerance and set an example for other people. If you don't want people knocking on your door at 8:00am trying to save you please don't try to push your opinion and scientific or statistical facts in front of our face in an effort to make us change our mind.

Yup, I agree and it makes me ashamed to be a Christian every day. Wars are started in the name of us , or just plain because of us, and I never could stand to see people die in the name of someone .. that is supposto preach love, understanding, and compassion for those who don't believe what you do... It sickens me.

On the other hand, if I didn't have 'something' to believe in, someone to thank and someone to ask why.. whenever something good or bad happened that I wasn't able to control.. then I don't know what I would do.

I am a Christian under covers... I'm in the closet..

When my 18 month old son was left unattended by his babysitter.. and fell in a pond.. I said " Why God"

When they revived him, got the water out of his lungs and said he would be okay.. I said " Thank you Lord"

If I hadn't had that.... I would have been lost.

Forget religion.

Christ is the path of salvation.
Christ is the truth of God's Word.
Christ is the life eternal.

Joh 14:6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.

Christ is the tree of life.

Gen 3:22 And the LORD God said, Behold, the man is become as one of us, to know good and evil: and now, lest he put forth his hand, and take also of the tree of life, and eat, and live for ever:

It's people who create divided societies and start wars, using religion as an excuse.

Yes, man made religions do - I agree

But Jesus came - He is the light of the world, an example to us, and we all need to know Him, and live for Him alone.
